Mozilla Thunderbird Not Sending Emails
Problem:
I get an error sending with Thunderbird, I can receive fine and I tried sending on Port 26 and it still does not work. How do I fix this problem?
Solution:
This error is most commonly caused by McAfee Antivirus, if you have McAfee running on your system, then you can follow these steps:
- Right-click on the McAfee System Tray icon and Select VirusScan Console
- Double-click Access Protection.
- Select Prevent mass mailing worms from sending mail. Be sure not to uncheck this box.
- Click on the Edit button.
- Add a comma at the end of the text box at the bottom of the window and then add THUNDE~1.exe. DO NOT PUT A SPACE BETWEEN THIS AND THE PREVIOUS ENTRY.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Close the VirusScan Console window.
After this has been completed, you should be able to send e-mail again from Thunderbird.
