Just Host Web Hosting Help
Domain Registration Renewal vs Hosting Renewal
Summary
Just Host does automatically send a reminder email to the email address on file, 30 days prior to expiration. This is to inform you that we will be renewing your account approximately 15 days prior to the actual end date.
Renewing your account
The reminder and auto-renewal is to prevent the expiration of your hosting account and/or domain name (if applicable). If there is an available registration credit when the domain renews, the domain registration will be renewed for free.
Starting 15 days prior to expiration, we will attempt to charge the credit card on file each day until the hosting account's expiration date. We will send you email reminders each day to the email address you have listed on the cPanel Profile tab. It is important to keep this information accurate and up to date.
Unfortunately if we never hear from you and we are unable to collect payment, your hosting account will expire. Once the account is expired, you will no longer have access to your files and website.
When your domain expires it is set to our parking nameservers. So it will not resolve to your content and emails will not work. From the expiration date of your domain you MAY have up to 30 days to renew your domain registration before it falls into REDEMPTION.
REDEMPTION is where the REGISTRAR charges a fee, to remove the domain name from redemption and renewal fee for the registration of the domain name, to avoid your domain name being placed up for open auction to the highest bidder. To avoid this fee it is first best to pay your HOSTING fees, if the domain is your main domain and registered with us, prior to your account expiration. Just Host's Redemption fee is listed in the Terms and Conditions section of the Hosting Prices article.
To keep your domain name registered while contemplating your hosting choices, you may log into your DOMAIN MANAGER and renew just the domain name and avoid the REDEMPTION fees.
