This article will show you how to setup an FTP account and how to use the account.

- Connecting with an FTP Client
- Using SFTP
- Instructions for Recommended FTP Clients
Follow these steps:
Login to your Just Host cPanel
Choose FTP Accounts

Note: While the username will be created using your Main Domain, you may use any of your domain names instead.
Example: If I created the username "username@example.com" and I wanted to create an FTP account for addon.com I would enter the following:
- Username: username@example.com
Then in my FTP client I would enter the following
- Host: addon.com
- Username: username@addon.com
Enter a "Login": username
Enter the Password as needed
Choose the Directory you'd like them to have access to.
FTP clients normally require 4 entries to successfully connect and transfer files.
Domain name or IP Address
Username
Password
Port (Usually port 21)
For a more secure FTP client upload, use SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol port 22)
You will need to enable SSH/Shell access on your account. If you do not already have SSH/Shell access, Click Here to learn how.
Note: Only your main FTP/cPanel username can be used for SFTP access. FTP accounts created using the FTP Accounts tool will not work.
