Quotes & Research Enhancements Coming Soon!
The Quotes & Research tab of your Scottrade account is being redesigned to provide you with enhancements of our current research tools, new international market data and even more ways to find trading opportunities that match your personal investing strategy.
"The new tools and updated resources will provide investors with access to a large volume of information that can be customized based on trading preferences," says Amy Walther, Trading Analyst on Scottrade's Web Team.
Here's a sneak peak at some new features and ways you can use them to enhance your research:
WORLD MARKETS: The new World Markets page reports market performance for Asia, Europe and the Americas, and provides values for major world currencies.
What You Can Do: With the new World Markets page, you can track global trading activity and monitor market events that might impact your investments in the U.S.
INVESTOR TOOLS: An Investor Tools area houses screeners and comparison tools for stocks and funds, and enables you to do a custom search for the strongest performing investments using a variety of criteria.
What You Can Do: Use the new Investor Tools in your account to screen for stocks and funds that fit your investment strategy, research the strongest performing investments on the market and do an apples-to-apples comparison of stocks or funds.
The updated stock and fund screeners offer more than ten technical indicators to help you find investment opportunities based on trends and technical analysis. For more information on how to use the new technical indicators, read Technical Analysis.
MARKET PULSE: A Market Pulse page has been added with heat maps for stock, fixed income and commodity indexes and funds that detail trading volume and performance.
What You Can Do: Use the heat maps to measure performance and trading volume in a quick, visual format. In the image below, volume is indicated by the space allotted to each index and performance can be determined by the color scale located above the heat map.
You can also view the last five quotes requested in your account from the Markets Pulse page, or mouse over an index to get a detailed index quote.
CHARTING TOOLS: The ability to pull performance charts for stocks and funds and embed charts into a different location has been added to the Quotes & Research section.
What You Can Do: Embed charts in your blog, website or in the Scottrade Online Community. Embedding charts gives you the ability to provide visual aids while discussing strategies and risks with other investors.
MARKET EVENTS CALENDAR: An updated and easy-to-access calendar can be used to track overall market events as well as events specific to your account.
What You Can Do: Track current economic news, initial and secondary public offerings (IPOs & SPOs), and the dates of earnings announcements, dividends and splits with the general Market Events Calendar. Use the My Market Events Calendar to view information specific to your investment portfolio and your watch lists.
