Mal will be available at this session to review a couple of previously submitted items in Photoshop.  Ben isn't exactly sure what Mal has in store for the Photographers but knows there is the possibility of reviewing layers and the pasting of one part of an image onto another.  Mal will probably be able to quickly answer a couple impromptu questions but Mal really prefers to be emailed an image a few days ahead of a virtual-vinemeet that you can attend. 

Tuesday is intended to be our tutorials session.  This is the time to ask 'how do I...?' questions, with a group of friends, the interwebs and GTM screen-sharing at hand.  In order to expand on and keep the tutorial sessions coming, we need to know the Photographers want to accomplish.  We need volunteers to demonstrate.  What do you want to learn more about?  Email us with your suggestions.

Now begins the search of additional images.  We are taking both submissions and nominations (photos and themes for the banner).  Please email them to photographers.newsvine.com@gmail.com.  To keep this going will take a concerted effort.  Photographs should be distinctive enough to recognize from a thumbnail-sized photograph and may be cropped, or otherwise edited, to fit header needs. 

We also will need to begin a list of themes to create so that the banner can be updated to showcase our great diversity.  This diversity will surely produce many themes.  If we don't collectively have the required images in our stock, we can always shoot them.

This session is still intended to discuss column and article formatting.  In whatever order it happens, the branding discussion and the answering/researching of HTML questions, etc, we can still finagle with the editor.

Although a quite short example, Rocky's mini-article above adequately explains the Photographers challenge for September. 

Write a photo essay featuring a destination you'd personally recommend to a traveler visiting an area, doing your best to convince them to go.  If you do your research and provide as much detail about the destination as you can, be sure to throw your article in Newsvine's Travel section!

Destinations can be anything:  tourist attractions, restaurants, parks, little-known places, etc.

Articles should also contain the tags: photo-challenge AND travel-destinations.  Please provide a link to your submissions in this article.

We discussed branding a little bit at the meet on Thursday.  To recap, we discussed the branding of our front page.  The icon, as seen in the virtual-vinemeet branding above, will be used as our avatar.  The header will resemble something like this

except that each photograph will contain an image.  The images are be from a different group member, chosen through a contest.
