BORDEAUX WINE ROUTES
"Route des vins" special!
The tastiest wine routes are to be experienced in.. La France! Take a sneak peek and get ready for an extraordinary journey with a special touch..
Its northern (Ammerschwihr to Wissembourg) and southern (Colmar to Mulhouse) vineyards make Alsace the easternmost wine region of France. Did you know that its wines are named after the grape variety rather than the village where they are produced? Meet the Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay and Muscat!
Provence, characterized by its typical wine bottles in amforamodel, is the largest producer of rose wines in the world. These vines, first planted by the Greeks, are found in three appellations: Coteaux d'Aix en Provence, Coteaux Varois en Provence, and the Cotes de Provence. Visit the local wine growers, they welcome you in a good mood and are happy to tell you the story of their own vineyards!
The Bordeaux region, well known for it's delicious red and white wines, is perhaps the most famous of all. Five different regions (Médoc, Graves, Blaye et Bourg, Libourne and Entre-Deux-Mers) offer you a vast range of red, sweet whites (Sauternes), dry whites, rosé and sparkling wines made by more than 8500 producers!
The tour continues via Dijon to Yonne, Côte-d'Or (Beaune), Saône-et-Loire (Macon) and Nièvre: with a total surface area of 28,530 ha, Burgandy gives home to some of the most expensive wines in the world. Here, white wines dominate the way: they contain about 70% of the total production!
The Rhone Valley, also called the Côtes du Rhône, is the oldest wine region of France and the must-visit for wine connoisseurs. With a production area of about 200 kilometers long the wines vary greatly in color, taste and production. 6000 wineries, 21 varietals, six departments: the Shiraz, Viognier, Muscat and Châteauneuf du Pape await you!
Last but not least, the greatest of France! A dry climate, plenty of sunshine and arid slopes: this region offers all the natural elements essential for creating stunning wines. The most famous is the Pays d'Oc, an accessible and good-quality wine adapted to all modern consumers, now produced in the entire region.
