![]() Author has written 35 stories for X-Men: Evolution, Pokémon, Spyro the Dragon, Naruto, X-Men, Legend of Zelda, Hetalia - Axis Powers, Foyle's War, Fire Emblem, and Fate/stay night. DISCLAIMER: All of the works that I post on this site are purely fan-made, I do not post them for profit, and I do not own the rights to any of the fandoms for which I write. My fanfics are attempts to display aspects of the storylines/characters/settings that I think deserve a deeper, or more critical examination, and hope to inspire other writers who share the joy in the fandom. I love these series, games, comics, what have you. But I have no economic control over them, and am not discouraging anyone from going out and spending time and/or money on supporting the original works (In fact, it would be better if you did, as then there would be a common basis for understanding what I am responding to in my writing). About Updates: SSP - Sorry, I'm not writing this at the pace I used to, and I'll try to get back on track, with a buffer before I continue updates, or everything will be nasty and spotty, with a week here and there. Eight Men - I AM A LYING LIAR WHO LIES. And I officially suck. I'll try to get the seventh chapter up some time before the world freezes over. Currently Updating: Not Exactly a Secret Still Active, but not Updating: Eight Men: A story about Finland and how such an inoffensive nation took on Russia, allied himself with with the Axis, and the turmoil this caused for all the nations involved. Or it could just be eight stories of the price of self determination. This fic spans from the 1400s to 1900s, and is more of a general over-view of European history than as Finland-centric as I first envisioned it. I am seriously beginning to consider calling it quits with this fic. The plans I had for it were made back in my youthful and arrogant days, and I honestly don't think I can handle the history I intended to write about. However, for now I'm soldiering on. If I decide to take it down or re-work it, there will be advance warning. (On Hiatus.) The Stupid School Project: Production Notes: I've noticed that my Author's Notes are getting too long again. For any commentary that I do not feel is absolutely necessary for the current chapter/one shot (such as anonymous reviewer replies), I'll post it here, along with anything else that I may have to say about potential projects. Future Projects: Extending Evolution - Beta'd by Blitz182 I've been challenging myself to write an Evo oriented fic that goes no longer than 13 chapters! Shockers! I'm hoping that it gets off the ground okay, as in order to tell all of the story I wanted to, I had to add "Bonus" chapters. Yeah, so it looks as though right now it's going to be 13 chapters, plus massive epilogue, plus four one-shots. I basically qualify Bonus chapters as the leg work I would need if I were ever to write a sequel (no retconning for me!). They take place in the story, but as they don't advance the main plot, they aren't counted as real. Think of the "Mindbender" episode in Season Two of Evo. Huge significance to Season Three and Four, but simply foreshadowing in Season Two. Summary: Apocalypse has been defeated, but that was only the beginning of the mutant problem for SHIELD. The X-Men are headed to college, and the New Recruits must step up and face the challenges presented by an expanding mutant population, anti-mutant related murder, "hunter-unit" Sentinels, and another group of mutant students from a school in Snow Valley, Massachusetts. Dark-ish, character death, and a lot of doomed romance. Some pairings: Wolpher (Cypher/Wolfsbane); Sunbane (one sided Sunspot/Wolfsbane); Range (utterly crack, but that was what the storyline did to those characters); Icelette (not as crack on first gloss, and one-sided, anyway); Karot (one sided, completely. Sorry Karma); and others, more traditionally cannon/accepted by the fandom at large. As a teaser, here's my progress with the story: Month the story takes place in Chapter Number - Title: Status Aug 01 - Collection: Complete - beta'd Into the Fire was going to be hard to beat. I knew that from the get-go. Any chapter where things are being manipulated by at least two people behind the scenes means that there's a darn good dramatic reveal at the end. Dreaming of You has three people doing the manipulation, and things are complicated, for all that much of the chapter is a fight scene. DoY has almost every cliched element in fanfic history at its beck and call. It's fun to look and realize that with this one, I broke most of my own barriers. There are dream sequences, flashbacks, people who shouldn't be powerhouses pretending that they are, and I used a song lyric for the title. Considering that this is supposed to be the "turning point" in the fic, I'm letting it be over the top, and dramatic. This is how it is, this is how it will be. I finally got to use Manuel, who I'd been keeping in the background of the fic just for this chapter. Now I'm going to have to wait for six more chapters before I get to write him in diabolical mode again. I really like writing mentally unhinged people. I really do. Emma also had time in the spot light, which I loved. It's going to be strange going back to writing heroes after this chapter, which was a villains show case. Luckily, I don't love the Reavers much, which means I won't be tempted to make them into stars. Things I have learned: Twenty plus people battles SUCK! Never again will this happen. Keeping sanity for the reader means that I have to narrow my focus in on only a few characters at a time, anyway, which eliminates the fun of having twenty characters at your disposal. You'd think I'd have learned, seeing as I've had this problem for the last two chapters, as well. But no, I'm just very thick, it appears. About MorriganFearn: MF likes X-Men, cats, replying to reviewers, and generally being a nuisance. As to MF's gender, some reviewers have theorized that MF is a guy, and others that MF is a girl. MF doesn't really care, as long as reviews are received. |
