Monster Hunter 4 will be coming to the 3DS, but how does the game look on Nintendo's handheld? Capcom has released a few screens to provide a look at the beasts we'll be facing.

Not much to this sucker, but Nintendo of America tweeted last night that Animal Crossing 3DS will make its way stateside in the first half of 2013.

Today's Nintendo Direct presentation began with an announcement regarding a game very close to my heart.

During today's Nintendo Direct presentation, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino announced a new Professor Layton game for the 3DS.

With no new titles hitting the market in Week 33, New Super Mario Bros. 2 again claimed the throne, with nearly 150,000 units moved.

With its 128,000 + sales in Media Create's Week 30, Persona 4: Arena became Japan's fastest-selling fighter on PS3.

Per Media Create, it passed Tekken 6, which sold just over 100,000 copies in the fall of 2009.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 moved over 400,000 units in its first two days to market in Japan.  In doing so, the 3DS' coin collecting side-scroller claimed the top spot for Media Create's Week 30.

Helping NSMB2 sales was the simultaneous launch of Nintendo's new 3DS form-factor, the 3DS LL, as it's referred to in Japan (we know it as the 3DS XL here in the West).  The larger and improved handheld moved 187,480 units, also in just two days.

Getting back to the software race, Persona 4: Arena, a fighter, took the silver with over 128,000 sales.  An RPG, Nayuta no Kiseki, took home the bronze, just edging Pokemon Black & White 2 by less than 1,500 copies.

The second series of AR Cards for Kid Icarus: Uprising are set to begin trickling into the popular culture.

The Series 2 cards will feature different characters, weapons, enemies and items that appear in Uprising.  There will also be cards representing locations found within the game, which is a first.

Per Famitsu / Enterbrain, Nintendo's new 3DS XL sold 193,441 units in its first two days on sale in Japan.

The plus-sized (and well-received) machine was boosted by the simultaneous release of New Super Mario Bros. 2, which, itself, moved over 400,000 copies.
