Full realization that machines (at this point) have no feelings and cannot feel pain does little to quell the anxiety I feel when cruel, curious people "drop test" electronic devices.
Maybe it has to do with growing up poor, perhaps I'm hyper-empathetic. Whatever the case, I have a hard time watching these things… and at the same time I can't look away.
Burying the lede, some guys at GizmoSlip dropped a PS Vita recently onto what seems to be asphalt and the results were encouraging.
They dropped the Vita on its side, its back and most painfully, on its front touch screen, all from a height of four feet. Please (try to) enjoy.
Thanks to Joystiq.

Resistance: Burning Skies is, at its core, a story about an everyday hero becoming a legend… or so the PlayStation Blog tells us.
In the below video, you'll learn more about the upcoming Vita shooter, which hopes to spin a compelling tale with fireman Tom Riley as its protagonist.
Also seen in the vid are some new details about the game, including new weapons and enemies like the giant Chimeran creature pictured above who has a cannon for an arm. He's called the Executioner, and we're not alluding to his throwing prowess here; the thing literally has a cannon for an arm.
Please enjoy:

Sony's Gravity Rush is one of the more interesting original titles coming to the PlayStation Vita this year, thanks to its unique visual style and topsy-turvy gravity-based gameplay. Already released in Japan (as Gravity Daze), the Vita exclusive adventure comes from the creative talent responsible for developing Sony's Siren series of Japanese horror games — and before that, the original Silent Hill for PlayStation.
We recently had a chance to speak with the game's director, Keiichiro Toyama, who tells Side Mission of the game's transition from the PlayStation 3 to the Vita, its comic book influences and the design of its main character, Kat.

The 12 additional characters coming as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Street Fighter X Tekken will set you back $20 (or 1600 Microsoft Points) later this year, Capcom says. (They will be included in the Vita version of SFXT, however, should you have the patience.)
That revelation is part of a long list of downloadable additions coming to Street Fighter X Tekken this year, as detailed on Capcom's official blog.
