Dropped 660ti SLI

Don't knock the Reference Cooler, it will be gone soon.

I'm guessing you're putting it under water?

Nope, getting this instead:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186097

Scratch that Arctic Accelero Extreme IV, I got this instead.

Fan is not running because I hooked it to my Thermal Radar so it only turns on at 40C

^still should have been white kraken mang =P

and wow at the rating score of arctic extreme 4 on newegg, sadness, i'ts only hard to install properly. xD

r9 290 once more the price-performance king.

Has anyone been able to activate their Youtube Account in Raptr?

I'm getting crazy with monitor and GPU.

I have an Asus 27T1E TV Monitor and I connected my R9 280X via HDMI.
The picture is perfect until I install the GPU drivers! After installing, everything looks blurry.
I put the Overscan at 0% but the picture gets too big for the monitor. I tried to use a different pixel format and it's the same thing. I tried to use a custom resolution and nothing.
I have no idea what to do!

weird, one of my monitors use hdmi on my r9 290, and i got have any blurry stuff going on.

have you tried setting it on ITC in the panel options on amd catalyst too?

Yup, tried that.

Doing some upgrading of my own for my R9 290x.

I'm actually already done. I just need to clean my room before I take picture of the result, it's cluttered with packaging trash, and laundry that needs to be folded.

The air flow is reversed, top and rear are intake, and the front is exhaust to maximize space, and, therefore cooling potential of the Kraken G10 with Corsair H75.

hmm weird, can't see your images

Mine is working fine, and I've uploaded several videos through raptr. What's yours telling you?

Well, that's the last time I'm using googledrive links, and lol @ the gifs.

Well, I can't authenticate my google account through Raptr. It's just says error when entering my google account.

There, Photobucket never lets me down.

PowerColor PCS+ Cooler:

Idle: 40°C
100%: 81°C

NZXT Kraken G10 w/ Corsair H75 in Push/Pull cofig:

Idle: 35°C
100%: 65°C

I'm going to definitely look into overclocking, but not a necessity right now since it's more than adequate for 1080p.

Very nice 290X Red Mod. What kind of VRM1 cooler is that? Custom? OC'ing is fine as long as your VRM1 is below 100c, heard it's max temp is somewhere around 125c. It's safe to keep it below 90c. Mine gets to 80c max at 1150 on core and 1500 on mem. I did however had to up my mV to 88+ on core and +19mV on VRM2 to handle the 1500mhz on the memory.

VRM heatsinks came with the PowerColor PCS+ cooler. 290x PCS+ doesn't have Memory Voltage control, only Core and Aux.

Original specs:
1050mhz core
1350mhz memory

My card tapped out at 1100mhz(+88mV) core and 1450mhz memory.

Oh I see, didn't know they used those types of coolers. Thought it was just a giant plate with thermal pads.

AUX controls VRM2 voltage which is memory voltage.

Thanks I've always wondered what the Auxiliary is.

Well, I got the memory up to 1500mhz but required Aux +63mV.

Check if you have Edpida or Hynix RAM. That seems like a lot of mV. You should be fine, just keep an eye out on your VRM2 temps. It's rated the same as VRM1. To monitor you VRM voltage, check GPUZ. VRM1 is VDDC, VRM2 is VDDCI.

Oh, yes I know to well the limitations of Elpida ram. My Asus 7970 Direct CUII has Hynix I got it from 1375mhz to 1650mhz with no mV modification.

Rumor: AMD's Single-GPU R9 390X Will Be Liquid Cooled

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-radeon-390x-liquid-asetek,27665.html

Impressive amount of cores on the R9 300Xs, and imressive memory clock speeds. Although, I'm not impressed with an AIO on a single card. That screams less OC overhead.

Well, apparantly they're just launching R9 285 and other already released GPUs in india. Lame.

I love those Graphic cards AMD evolved alot on those years.

Good news

Those specs for that stacked RAM are pathetic in comparison to nvidia's stacked ram.

Looks like once again, AMD will be behind.

If AMD is the future why don't they have a 6gig card yet for shadow of mordors requirements...

Well AMD had plenty of 8GB versions 290 or 290x cards available long time ago

example: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-269-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

While nvidia launched their latest 970-80 cards with only 4GB.. thats only good for 1080p in latest games like Unity and will start stuttering at higher resolutions. But hey 980ti and titan 2 is coming so you can upgrade for 700-1000+, so no worries.

Wonder if they will match 970 right now that seems to be best card for value and performance from what i looked at its cheaper than the 290x and has better performance.

Right now in Canadian dollars 970 is cheaper by 50$ last time i checked at newegg.

390x will crap on 980, let alone 970.

AMD 390X will highly likely beat 980ti, comfortably. And 290x beats 970 in many games.

edit: oh its that guy.. nvm

until 970 came and with it's good price, R9 290 was the king when it came to the big card price/performance, it also had 4gb ram which are 512bit. While 280x dominated the middle branch in price/performance.

R9 290(x) released a year ago, for card manufacturers, that's a whole gen, lol.
