so the only way to transfer our current Pokemon to X and Y will be through 2 new apps called Pokemon Bank and Poke Transfer that costs an annual fee. Dunno how many people will like the annual fee part, but that's an interesting new app to get to use. We will be getting 2 starters this time too. Interesting the gen 5 starter come from your friend in game and you get a gen 1 starter from the Professor. To make it better, gen 1 starters have mega evolutions....I kinda expect all starters to have mega evos though | |

The Pokemon transferring app has a free trial which is good. Seeing as i'll only use it once. Mega Charizard looks so hnnnnnggggggg. It's still not Fire/Dragon type even if they made it look more like a dragon than ever before. It gains the ability 'Drought' and a 'significant boost in it's special attack'. I can see Mega Charizard replacing Ninetales in drought teams. Mega Blastoise looks amazing (is that a goatee? laaaawwwdddd!). More cannons and it's more hunched over which looks awesome imo. New ability 'Mega Launcher' which increases the power of pulse type moves (e.g water pulse). Worst new ability. Mega Venasaur looks... Meh. New ability 'Thick Fat'. Best ability out of the mega kanto starters. In Game Mega Blastoise looks the best but Mega Charizard looks insane in the art. Still looks great in game. | |

I can't even start a game because my starter Pokemon won't get the right nature. I want it to have a nature that boosts special attack. I'm playing Fire Red. No matter what game it is, I have to reset constantly until the game gives my Pokemon the right nature. I have to reset and re-catch other Pokemon I plan to use throughout the game, too, until they have their good natures. If each Pokemon needs a certain nature to be good, why do they give all of them random natures? Load save, get Pokemon, check nature, wrong nature, reset. Rinse and repeat, over and over. Everything is so slow until you beat Brock because you don't have the running shoes. I went to Pewter City and had to go all the way back through the forest to Viridian to get a Mankey and go all the way back, since I picked Charmander. I got a Pikachu in Viridian Forest, but it's worthless because it has a neutral nature. See, you have to get lucky just to make progress in the game. | |

Exactly. Everything single player related can be made with any pokemon that has any nature. As A7XBTF says... the only reason to care that much about the nature would be if you want to be super competitive online. And I don't see why that should be made easy | |
I just want to play a casual game. I don't care for all that IV and EV stuff. I want to play the main game. I don't even have any of the DS games yet, and when I play those I don't care for online competition. People seemed to be obsessed with breeding in Pokemon. I don't care for it. I don't want to run daycare. I don't want to experience the joy of birth. I want to catch Pokemon and use them to beat the shit out of other Pokemon. Breeding isn't a mandatory thing, is it? | |

IV, EV training, and getting perfect natures is really only for truly competitive players. You can easily beat the game without the need for it...but seeing as this'll be the first game I'm going to start to play competitively I'll have to start doing all this myself lol | |

Breeding and "nature" an all that stuff is only important if you plan on playing against other people. If you just want to play the main story they are not relevant. | |
I can't even play a single Pokemon game through, because if I don't get the "right" nature for every single Pokemon I use regularly, it probably will feel like I messed up. I even wound up with a female starter from resetting to get the proper nature. It feels weird having a female starter when I'm male. I don't want my Charizard in a dress and lipstick.. | |

It would be so much less stress inducing if there were no genders and no natures to worry about. Well I'm not that worried about gender, but for my starter..come on. It feels weird having a female as my main Pokemon. I'm not gay. I want a tough, manly starter and not a dainty, feminine one.

I'm just playing casually, but I want my Pokemon to have decent stats to make it through the game. I'm on Fire Red, and since I chose Charmander as my starter, I had to pick up an early Mankey in order to beat Brock. I got tired of resetting and the Mankey I kept has a neutral nature. Mankey is supposed to be best in attack and speed, right? I don't want to let it go and get another one because I already leveled it up and taught it Rock Tomb. Will giving it an X item or two compensate for it not having a beneficial nature? | |
don't do it. giving it an x item will cause the pokeman to explode. | |
X items are only temporary boosts in battle so no those wont help. Leave it as is and if its not been used too much yet, you may still have time to EV train it in those particular stats you want....but neutral stats in general are good unless there are huge differences. Neutral is good for Mankey and Primeape though from when I tried using it last | |
