"Jim is a blue-collar, working class dude. He's not a Space Marine, Marcus Fenix-type. He's very much like, 'look, I've got a family to feed, I came here to do some work, get some hazard pay. If something gets in my way, I'll deal with it.'"
That's Lost Planet 3 Producer Andrew Szymanski on the game's protagonist, Jim, a character Capcom and Spark Unlimited are banking on to ground the game and provide a contrast from previous Lost Planet titles.
"We're really trying to make him a sympathetic character."
I asked Mr. Szymanski what he felt was newest with LP3 as compared to the previous two Lost Planet entries, what was going to pleasantly surprise the player. His immediate response was as you read above, which should tell you how important 'Jim' and his relatability are to the title's development team.
