Borderlands 2 Save Glitch May Make You Less Badass

Written by: Dan Seitz | September 25, 2012 at 5:35AM

If you're the kind of person who hard reboots your system a lot, you're probably used to this kind of thing. But if you aren't: Try to avoid that situation in Borderlands 2, because it may erase all the progress you've made in the Badass system, and you may also lose character customization options and your Golden Keys.

The glitch, first reported in the Gearbox forums, affects all platforms and seems to happen when save data is corrupted, usually due to a system powering down in the middle of a game. The glitch wipes all Badass points, meaning you lose your hard-earned bonuses, but it doesn't wipe the challenges, so you won't be able to get any of those tokens back. Players are also reporting that skins you earn via the system are wiped out as well.

It is worth noting, however, that you can disable your Badass bonuses at any time in the menu by pressing a button, so you might want to check to make sure that's not what happened first.

The good news is that Gearbox is fully aware of the problem and is working on a fix. Until then, just make sure you're saving properly.
