No. 3 Buckeyes Roll Over Kent State 48-3

Just like the last time they met, Ohio State hopes Kent State is a steppingstone to a national championship.

Big Ten Primed, but Who'll See It?

This should be a banner year for the Big Ten. The problem is, few may get a chance to see it. The Big Ten's new television network is struggling to reach agreements with the biggest cable providers in the Midwest, and the clock is ticking on the Sept. 1 openers.

Purdue Beats Ohio State to Win Big Ten

Purdue was tired of hearing about Ohio State's invincibility. So the Boilermakers put that notion to rest with one resounding flurry.

The Bowl Championship Series broke in favor of Florida, sending Urban Meyer's Gators to the national championship game to play Ohio State.

No. 12 Badgers Coast Past Buffalo 35-3

Wisconsin snapped out of what looked like a senior slump on Senior Day, scoring two touchdowns just before halftime to pull away from a surprisingly pesky Buffalo team.

At Long Last, Buckeyes Vs. Wolverines

No longer do the players have to watch what they say. There are no other teams left on the schedule. No. 2 Michigan, meet No. 1 Ohio State. A spot in the national championship game, an outright Big Ten title, a perfect season — and certainly not least of all, a year of bragging rights for rabid fans — await the winner of the annual grudge match Saturday in packed Ohio Stadium.

The up-and-down tenure of John L. Smith at Michigan State is coming to an end. Smith will finish the season as the struggling Spartans' head coach, but he won't be back in 2007.

Let the Hype Begin for No. 1 and No. 2

"Snakes on a Plane" didn't even get this much advance publicity. No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Michigan are a little less than a month away from their annual Big Ten grudge match, and it's all football fans in Ann Arbor and Columbus, Ohio, talk about. The players and coaches are another matter.

Ohio State, USC, Michigan Lead BCS Race

Let the countdown begin to what could be the biggest Ohio State-Michigan game ever. The Buckeyes and Wolverines, along with Southern California, topped the first Bowl Championship Series standings released Sunday, putting the Big Ten powers and the Trojans in control of the national title race.

How a College Football Playoff System Would Work

Source: Yahoo! Sports

A playoff is coming to college football, not eventually but probably sooner than the moneyed-establishment wants to admit. Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, the Vladimir Putin of college sports and the key figure preventing a playoff, can stem the tide for only so long.

It's time for a NCAA Division I-A football playoff system

A playoff is used to determine the football champion in Division I-AA, Division II and Division III, and also every other sport sanctioned by the NCAA. But not in NCAA Division I-A football.

Lloyd Carr's Retirement Points Up Commentator Bias and Team Weaknesses of Big Ten and Notre Dame

I know. It has not happened yet. Perhaps it is the grit of the guy. Perhaps it is the respect he gets as a man, such as from the Big Ten's commissioner who is quoted only saying that he is a good man, not a great coach.

Week 12 Big Ten Predictions

Ouch, I went 2-4 last week after a day of upsets. I sincerely hope no one is making any bets off of my picks. But then again, who would have called that the two "strongest" teams in the Big Ten would lose.

Week 11 Big Ten Predictions

Well, another 5-1 week, I guess it's a better record to keep having than 4-2. Michigan barely squeaked by in East Lansing against the "We can't finish a game" Spartans of Michigan State.

Week 10 Big Ten Predictions

Well, I went 5-1 last week, with my only loss coming from my under performing Spartans in a loss to the lowly Hawkeyes. Now I'll see if I can for once pick a perfect week in Big Ten play.

Michigan State's basketball team has depth and flexibility

Source: Yahoo! Sports

Practice sessions likely will be more challenging than some games when Michigan State's season starts in a few weeks. The Spartans are so talented and deep that the starters can expect all they can handle from the second-stringers.

Week 9 Big Ten Predictions

Well, we're sitting here at week 9 with the usual suspects sitting atop the conference standings. Now we just have to see if the Buckeyes and Wolverines can remain unbeaten in Big Ten play until the final game of the regular season when they meet at the Big House in Ann Arbor.

Big Ten Week 8 Predictions in Review

Well, I finally broke my 4-2 streak with my predictions, going 6-1 this week. I would have been perfect this week had Minnesota not sunk to a brand new low against a team from a conference that I'd never heard of until this week.

Week 8 Big Ten Predictions

Michigan State at Ohio State. Here's the week I try to break my 4-2 streak. Michigan State is coming off a big win against Indiana last week with RB Javon Ringer racking up 203 rushing yards. Michigan State has not beat Ohio State since 1999.

Big Ten Week 7 Predictions in Review

Once again my picks went 4-2 this week. Michigan State decided to finally come to play on defense against the Hoosiers this weekend. The Fighting Illini decided to pack it in against the Hawkeyes.

Week 7 Big Ten Predictions

I can't seem to do better than 4-2 this year in my Big Ten picks. That may be due to the sheer awfulness of the Big Ten as a whole, or maybe the fact that my skills in prognostication are lacking.

Big Ten Week 6 Predictions in Review

Another 4-2 weekend on my Big Ten picks. First off, Michigan State, where did your defense go, and do they plan on coming back any time this season? Dantonio's squad will need to figure out these defensive liabilities if they want to win enough games to become bowl eligible.

An in depth look at the favorite in the Big Ten.

Big Ten Predictions: Week 6

Ohio State(4) at Purdue(23). Ohio State looks like the real deal in the Big Ten. Trouble is, they haven't really had a real test yet this season. This matchup against Purdue will be their first.

Week 5 Big Ten Predictions in Review

Went 4-2 this week, mostly due to poor play from Penn State for a second week in a row, proving that the Big Ten is in fact the weakest of the BCS conferences this year.

Week 5 Big Ten Predictions

Michigan State at Wisconsin(9). One thing's for sure, after the match-up between these two unbeaten teams, one will no longer be unbeaten (homage to John Madden). The Spartans have to drop a couple eventually this season, and I think this will be the first.

Week 4 Predictions in Review.

Went 4-2 this week. The Spartans handed Notre Dame a loss that landed the Irish in the record books. This is the first time in school history that the team had started 0-4 on a season as well as the first time that a team has beat them 6 straight times at home.

Week 4 Predictions: Big Ten

Well, my Spartans keep on winning, although the manner in which they are winning is a little disconcerting. The win last week over Pitt was a little too close, and a lot too ugly.

Week 3 Prediction Review: Big Ten

Well I did significantly worse than last week in my predictions, going 7-4 on my picks. Ohio State did not get upset by a seemingly hot Washington Huskies team. Minnesota showed just how much they may suck in a loss to Florida Atlantic.
