Brokerage History Highlights

2010 – Scottrade celebrates serving self-directed investors for 30 years, opening its 500th branch location, hiring its 3,000th employee.
2008 – Scottrade hires its 2,000th employee in March and opens its 306th branch office in April.
2007 – Scottrade becomes the online brokerage with the nation’s largest branch network and opens its 250th branch office in Canton, Ohio. In October, Scottrade is ranked Highest in Investor Satisfaction with Online Investing Services by J.D. Power and Associates for the seventh time.
2003 – Scottrade opens its one-millionth customer account. In September, J.D. Power and Associates names Scottrade Highest in Investor Satisfaction with Online Trading Services for an unprecedented fourth consecutive time.
2000 – Scottsdale Securities changes its name to Scottrade to reflect the domain of its website (www.scottrade.com).
1996 – Scottsdale Securities offers online trading to its already substantial customer base.
1982 – Scottsdale Securities opens St. Louis branch office and current headquarters
1980 – Rodger Riney founds Scottsdale Securities in Scottsdale, Arizona. The first branch office opens in Phoenix, Arizona.
