Scottrade’s IT Environment Continues to Grow, Recognized as Best Place to Work

Computerworld magazine highlights the country’s top organizations, highlights Scottrade’s dedication to associates as it seeks to fill more than 40 new IT positions

ST. LOUIS, June 18, 2012 – For the fifth consecutive year, leading financial services company Scottrade, Inc. was named one of the Best Places to Work in IT by IDG’S Computerworld magazine. Scottrade secured the 31st spot on the annual list ranking the country’s best work environments for technology professionals.

“Scottrade focuses on creating an environment for our IT associates that fosters innovation in developing the latest technologies in financial services and mobile investing,” said Scottrade’s Chief Information Officer Ian Patterson.

“Many of the same reasons Scottrade continues to be named a Computerworld Best Place to Work in IT – training opportunities, employee benefits and a culture of open communication – help us create an atmosphere that enables associates to develop innovative technology and solutions for investors and traders across the country,” he said. “As we continue to grow, our need for talented associates with a variety of skills remains a priority.”

In 2011, Scottrade filled 280 IT positions at its St. Louis headquarters and secondary operations center in Westminster, Colo. As its capabilities expand, the company continues to recruit top talent. Some of the open positions include Windows architects, ASP.Net developers, and QA automation engineers. A complete listing of Scottrade job opportunities can be found at www.scottrade.com/careers.

"The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list consistently seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. "Many of these organizations have spent years building top-notch IT workplaces, and we applaud the amazing work they've done to sustain dynamic environments where IT professionals can work with the latest technologies and play a key role in business-critical projects."

Being named a Best Place to Work in IT is just one of several notable recognitions that the company has received in the past year:

• In January, Scottrade was named one of FORTUNE magazine’s Best Companies to Work For for the fifth consecutive time.
• In September 2011, Scottrade ranked 54th on InformationWeek’s list of top technology innovators.
