NEW YORK -- YouTube and PBS have put in place a joint program to solicit, organize, stream and broadcast user-generated video from polling places around the nation on election day, November 4. The program is called "Video the Vote." According to Steve Grove, head of politics at YouTube, the effort is aimed to "increase the transparency" of the voting process, including potential problems. Voters will be encouraged to bring video cameras or video-enabled camera phones to the polling place. The voter-generated-videos will be populated on Video the Vote on YouTube and on PBS as part of its election night coverage.
