CBR TV spoke with Matt Smith and Keith Richardson of 2000 AD during Comic-Con International in San Diego to discuss the differences between the American and UK comic book markets, the need for British comics to celebrate their own coolness and uniqueness and the British public's view of comics in general. The editorial duo then explained the hook of Judge Dredd and Mega-City One, from their underplayed humor and irreverence to the importance of Mega-City One to Dredd's character and stories, before explaining the publisher's American graphic novel line which repackages existing "2000 AD" stories for US audiences. Finally, the upcoming Judge Dredd movie is discussed, with the pair assuring fans of the movie's fidelity to the source material.
