Jill Abramson is replacing Bill Keller as executive editor of the New York Times . Keller, who stepped down in order to return to writing full time, worked with Abramson as managing editor to "restore confidence" in the paper following the infamous Jayson Blair fabrication scandal. The 57-year-old Abramson becomes the first female executive editor in the Gray Lady's 160-year history and takes over as the Times is finding new ways to monetize its journalism on the Web and beyond.
