Enabling Web Service Access
Your organization's Online Marketing Suite Administrator must grant you Web Services access privileges before you can use Online Marketing Suite Web Services.
To enable Web Services access for a SiteCatalyst user
- In the Online Marketing Suite, select Admin > User Management.
- In the User Management page, click Edit Users.
- In the User table, locate your username, then click Edit (in the Manage column).
- In the User Properties, add Web Service Access to the user's access list.
- Click Save Changes.
Adding Web Service Access automatically generates a shared secret for the user. The user must use his or her shared secret to generate the password digest used for Web Services Authentication.
NOTE: Instead of assigning Web Services access to users individually, you can create a user group in Admin Console. A User Group describes a set of permissions to assign to group members. Administrators can set up groups with pre-defined access (such as Web Services access) and a privileges, then assign users to those groups. For information about creating and managing user groups, see the Admin Console User Guide in the SiteCatalyst Help System.
