With the recent release of the Omniture Developer Community website to customers, our product API’s, documentation, and community blogs and forums have moved one step closer to becoming completely open to the general public.Soon the Omniture platform and developer community will be accessible to anyone in the world that wishes to develop against our web service APIs. It’s an exciting time, and one can only wonder what kind of innovation we’ll see as a result.

We recently wrapped up an internal development contest and received over 20 application submissions. Submissions for the internal contest provide an interesting early indicator of things to come. If you have a SiteCatalyst user login, you can view all the application submissions in the
Omniture Developer Code Gallery. Here are a few examples of applications, integrations, and toolkits that were submitted for this contest:

Enhancing SiteCatalyst with Alexa Statistics

Using Omniture's SOAP web services on the iPhone
This application gives iPhone developers a headstart creating applications for SiteCatalyst with sample code that demonstrates:
- How to encode the WSSI authentication headers based off a web-services-enabled SiteCatalyst user.
- Use of several administrative and report SOAP API calls
- How to use SOAP web services on the iPhone given the lack of a supported SOAP library in Objective-C (the IPhone's development environment)

Firefox Extension: Form Analysis Javascript Plugin
This firefox extension displays form abandonment information collected via the Form Analysis Javascript Plugin overlayed on the form, much the same way ClickMap displays data for the links. This extension is intended to give analysts a better sense of where people are leaving their forms and which elements might cause people to leave from the site.
