Exactly my reaction...
Who wouldn't want a kitty or pup of their own after seeing these? Did you see the one with the kitten that seems to be drinking from a straw?? Cats can't make a straw work, can they? Well, it's a heckuva photo anyway.

I wondered the same thing, but was cute anyway.

I really liked a lot of those pictures, Laura - really cute.

Makes you want to go right out and get a new one, instead of waiting till you have read a few more bks, hey??
Oh, I don't really mean that you should get one till you're ready for a 'new love' - just teasing.

I think a lot of us really needed a bit of animal humor to help us gear up for another week...

I have been thinking more about getting another dog recently, Laura. In the last three years I've lost two elderly cats that were very special to me, and then my dog Maggie. I still have two cats that are about 13 years old. I'm almost afraid to make another commitment, because dealing with the deaths is very difficult, and my wife and I are both getting older as well.

What we're thinking about doing is going to the shelter and getting an older dog that would otherwise be hard to place. We could make his or her life very special for several years, and we wouldn't have to worry about a long term commitment. Of course then we'll have to deal with the pain of loss once again.

a few of those were obviously photo-shopped.......

I was thinking the same thing when I looked at some of those pictures, vladimer. I think a lot of them were "setups", but I'm not sure the photos were altered. It's really hard to tell these days if the photos are digitally altered by a professional or advanced amateur.

just one example: the one of the dog on the back of the motorcycle = photoshop.

#6.2 - Sun Oct 21, 2007 5:39 PM EDT

also the horse in the engine compartment and the lemurs on the antlers...... fake.

Is the kitten with a straw one a Photoshop? It's such an unnatural action for a cat to do, that it wouldnot surprise me....

#7 - Sun Oct 21, 2007 6:37 PM EDT

the kittem might just be licking the straw..... it doesn't seem as obviously fake to me as the others

I've caught my cats chewing on plastic straws before, and had to take it away from them. Some of the ones vladimer mentioned do look a little suspicious though.
