Transaction Details

Your transaction details provide a way for you to monitor your account history for accuracy. To view details of any transaction:

1. Go to the Banking tab of your Scottrade account.

2. On the Bank Account List page, select an account by clicking on the account number.

3. At the bottom of the Bank Account Summary page, your transaction history will be listed. To view information for a single transaction, click on the blue highlighted description of that transaction.

You can access your transaction details by calling Scottrade Bank's automated telephone banking system at 1-800-SCOTTRADE (1-800-726-8872).

Filter Your Transaction History

Your Bank Account Summary page also provides the ability to filter your transaction history for the previous 18 months by start date and end date, limiting the transactions displayed to a specified time period. You can control the time frame of the transaction information on your screen to track purchases, view records and catalog account transactions.

1. Go to the Banking tab of your Scottrade account.

2. On the default Bank Account List page, select the account you want to learn more about by clicking on the account number.

3. You will see a Transaction History section on the Bank Account Summary page.

Enter the start date and end date of the period for which you want to view transaction history in the fields provided, OR use the calendar icons to select your dates.

Using the Calendar

1. Click on the schedule icon next to the date entry fields to view a calendar.

2. Use the month and year arrows located at the top of the Calendar box to change the time frame that appears. Click on any of the date boxes to see that date entered into your start or end date fields. The image below shows March 2, 2010, being selected as either the start date or the end date of a transaction history.

3. Once you click on your desired date, the date will automatically be entered into the corresponding filter box. Click Go to view your transaction history for the time frame entered.

Downloading to Excel

It is easy to create financial records for your personal files with Scottrade Bank. Simply click the Download to Excel link next to your transaction history and save an Excel document of your transaction history to your computer.

Transaction Detail

Details for any account transaction made over the last 18 months can be found through your Bank Account List on the home page of your Banking tab. To access transaction details, click the account number and then click the transaction description link.

On the Transaction Detail page, you can find:

  • Amount - The monetary value of the transaction will be shown under the heading Amount.
  • Balance after Posting - Your Balance after Posting will show how your account was affected by the transaction and the value of your account after the transaction becomes effective.
  • Account Number - For your security, the first eight digits of your account number are hidden. Your account number is presented in the form ********1234 so that you can use the last four digits to distinguish between multiple accounts.
  • Description - whether the transaction was a deposit or withdrawal
  • Posting Date - The date the transaction was noted in your account is the Posting Date. The funds listed in the transaction detail may not be available for immediate withdrawal.
  • Posting Time - The time the transaction was posted in your account will be displayed under the label Posting Time.
  • Effective Date - date the transaction was applied to your account balance
  • Type - short description of transaction
  • Reference Number - unique number assigned to your transaction

To access details of another transaction, click Back and then click the description link that corresponds to the transaction you would like to view.

You can access transaction details by calling Scottrade Bank's automated telephone banking system at 1-800-SCOTTRADE (1-800-726-8872).

To view a deeper account history, visit the Statements & Notices section of the Banking tab to access electronic statements for up to the past seven years.
