Technical Requirements

This section details the minimum and recommended technical requirements for using the Scottrade Client Website.

Java Requirements

The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.6.0_13 or above is required to run some Scottrade features. Windows, Linux and Solaris users may download the JRE from Sun.

Internet Connection

Most Internet connections will work with the Scottrade Client Website. The speed of the connection will determine the time it takes to load Web site data.

Browser Configuration

For optimal performance of Scottrade trading tools, please configure your browser to the settings detailed here.

Clearing Cache

Clearing your cache can significantly improve the speed and performance of your browser. Cache is a fast storage buffer in the central processing unit of a computer.

Adobe Flash Player

To view videos from the Media Center, you may be asked to download Adobe Flash Player. Follow the installation directions listed by browser type to add Flash Player on your computer.
