Balances via Phone
From the main menu, press 3, or from any other spot, press *B. The system will list the following information:
Cash
Funds Available for Trading – This balance indicates the total funds available for purchasing stocks. You can use settled or unsettled funds for buying stocks. If you wish to use only settled funds to purchase stocks, view the Settled Funds Available for Trading balance.
Settled Funds Available for Trading – Your settled funds are funds that have been credited to your account and are available for trading any type of security.
Cash Available for Withdrawal – Your cash available for withdrawal is equal to the lesser of settled funds available for trading.
Total Cash Balance – The Total Cash Balance of your account is composed of all funds credited to the account, plus or minus funds from unsettled trades.
Total Brokerage Account Value – The total value of your brokerage account is calculated as the sum of your Positions Market Value plus your Cash Balance.
Stock, Mutual Funds, CDs, and Bonds Market Value – This balance is the real-time value of the current positions in your account, excluding options.
Options Market Value – The balance is the real-time value of the current option positions in your account, excluding non-standard options.
Total Positions Market Value – The market value of all the positions in your account is calculated as the sum of your Stocks, Mutual Funds, CDs & Bonds Market Value plus your Options Market Value.
Margin
Buying Power for Marginable Investments – This balance shows the funds in your account that may be used for the additional purchase or short selling of marginable securities. Any funds used in excess of the margin settled credit balance are a loan and will be charged margin interest.
Buying Power for Non-Marginable Investments – This balance shows the funds in your account that may be used to purchase non-marginable securities. Any funds used in excess of the margin settled credit balance are a loan and will be charged margin interest.
Cash Available for Withdrawal without Margin Loan – This balance shows the funds in your account that may be withdrawn without incurring a margin loan and margin interest.
Total Cash Balance – This balance shows the total money credit or money debit in your brokerage account. Debit balances are a loan and will be charged margin interest.
Total Brokerage Account Value – The total value of your brokerage account is calculated as the sum of your Positions Market Value plus your Cash Balance.

Day-Trading Margin
Day Trading Buying Power – Your Day Trading Buying Power is the amount of money you have available in your account to place day trades on a given trading day, and it only applies to margin accounts classified as Patter Day Trading accounts with $25,000 or more in equity.
Buying Power for Marginable Investments – This balance shows the funds in your account that may be used for the additional purchase or short selling of marginable securities. Any funds used in excess of the margin settled credit balance are a loan and will be charged margin interest.
Buying Power for Non-Marginable Investments – This balance shows the funds in your account that may be used to purchase non-marginable securities. Any funds used in excess of the margin settled credit balance are a loan and will be charged margin interest.
Cash Available for Withdrawal without Margin Loan – This balance shows the funds in your account that may be withdrawn without incurring a margin loan and margin interest.
Total Cash Balance – This balance shows the total cash credit or debit in your brokerage account. Debit balances are a loan and will be charged margin interest.
Beginning of Day Day-Trading Buying Power – Your Beginning of Day DTBP is equal to four times the amount of your Account Maintenance Excess as of the previous day's closing prices. This is the total amount of funds you have available for intraday trading throughout the day.
Today's Impact on Day-Trading Buying Power – Your Today's Impact on DTBP balance is a calculation of the net impact of today's trades, using execution prices. It includes all opening transactions on a position during the current trading day. If you close out a position that you opened earlier in the day, or participated in a day trade, the impact will be reduced by the amount required for the opening transaction. Today's Impact on DTBP reduces the Current Day Trading Buying Power of your account.
Total Brokerage Account Value – The total value of your brokerage account is calculated as the sum of your Positions Market Value plus your Cash Balance.
Stock, Mutual Funds, CDs, and Bonds Market Value – This balance represents the total value of any positions held in the cash portion of your account, excluding options, as of yesterday's close.
Options Market Value – The balance is the real-time value of the current option positions in your account, excluding non-standard options.
Total Positions Market Value – The total market value of all the positions in your account, excluding options, as of the previous day's market close is calculated as the sum of your Stocks, Mutual Funds, CDs & Bonds Not Held on Margin, your Stocks, Mutual Funds, CDs & Bonds Held on Margin, and your Short Stocks Market Value.
