Detailed Quotes in Scottrader

The Detailed Quote tool provides real-time performance with more than 30 different data points. The available data points are organized in four different categories: Summary, Financials, Fundamentals and Technicals.

You can rename the categories by clicking in the box below each category tab name.

  • Enter the new category name.
  • Click OK.
  • Repeat to rename the next category tab.

To Get a Stock or ETF Quote:

1. Click the Detailed Quote button at the top of the Quote Grid window.

2. Input a ticker symbol in the entry field provided. You can also use the drop-down box to choose from the symbols currently displaying in the Quote Grid window.

3. Click Get Quote.

Note: To get a quote for an index, enter a dollar sign ($) before the index symbol. A list of common U.S. Market Indexes can be seen in the graphic below.

For mutual fund quotes, you may choose to insert a caret (^) in front of the symbol but one is not required.

To Get an Option Quote:

1. Click the Detailed Quote button in the upper left corner of the Quote Grid window.

2. Input an underlying symbol in the entry field provided. You can also use the drop-down menu to choose from the symbols currently displaying in the Quote Grid window.

Note: You may need to click your mouse in the drop-down menu next to the Get Quote button in order to view the option quote entry fields.

3. Use the Call/Put drop-down menu to choose whether you want to view calls or puts.

4. Use the Expiry drop-down menu to choose from the available expirations.

5. Use the Strike drop-down menu to select a strike price.

6. Click Get Quote.

Data points are displayed in the Detailed Quote window. There are over 30 data points in each category, including:

Last - The most recent price at which one share of a stock was traded.

Bid - The current bid, or price where a market sell order would likely be filled.

Ask - The current ask, or price where a market buy order would likely be filled.

High - The intraday high price for a stock.

Low - The intraday low price for the stock.

Vol. (volume) - The intraday number of shares traded.

Note:The volume displayed for the family of Dow Jones Indexes may be truncated. Multiply the displayed number by 100 to determine the precise index volume.

Avg. Vol. 100D - The average trading volume of a security over the last 100 trading days.

Avg. Vol. 22D - The average trading volume of a security over the last 22 trading days.

Prev. Close - The closing price of the previous market day.

BxA Sizes - The bid and ask sizes at these prices (For example, 2x2 is equal to 200x200 shares.).

Last Size - The most recent quantity of shares traded on a security.

Prev. 12M EPS - A company's earnings per share from the 12 months prior to the last 12M EPS.

Volatility 12M - The degree to which the value of the security has changed over the past 12 months.

52 Wk. H - The high price over the last 52 weeks.

52 Wk. L - The low price over the last 52 weeks.

$ Chg. - The intraday net dollar change for a single share from the previous day's closing price.

% Chg. - The intraday net percentage change for a single share from the previous day's closing price.

Shrs. Out - Stock currently held by investors, including restricted owned by the company's officers and insiders, as well as those held by the public. Shares that have been repurchased by the company are not considered outstanding stock.

Open - The first price at which a security entered the market at the beginning of the current trading day.

Dividend Yield - Calculated by dividing the stock's annual dividend by the previous close.

Time Traded - The time the last trade was executed.

Annual Dividend - Total amount of dividends projected to be paid in the upcoming 12 months.

Next Ex-Div. Date - The date that determines who has the right to the next dividend payment. If an individual does not own the stock before the ex-dividend date, that person will not be eligible for the dividend payment.

Beta - The volatitliy measurement of a fund or stock compared to the market as a whole.

Note: Red text next to a data point indicates that a change was made.
