QuickQuote is an excellent tool to display real-time fundamental information for a single stock. QuickQuote is a key advantage tool for anyone involved in stock market trading. You'll find it near the center of the menu bar across the top of your Scottrader window.
When you enter a valid stock symbol, QuickQuote will display more than 20 different fields of streaming real-time and fundamental data. Scottrader will fill every field in the QuickQuote window with available information, including Last, Bid, Ask, High and Low fields. Each detail is color-coded, so when a trade occurs or the stock quote is changed, based on previous data, any of the mentioned fields might change their colors. You'll know when a change has occurred, the moment it happens.
Here's what your QuickQuote may look like:
You will see the company information next to the stock symbol, and the CUSIP # is listed at the bottom of the QuickQuote window, as shown above.
Loading QuickQuote
To retrieve information on a stock once you have opened the QuickQuote window, type a valid stock symbol into the green field in the top left corner and press Enter or click on the Go button.
If the symbol is valid, Scottrader will fill every field in the QuickQuote window with available information on that particular stock. Last, Bid, Ask, High and Low fields are color-coded fields. What this means is, when the trade occurs or the quote is changed on the stock, based on previous data, any of the mentioned fields might change their colors.
For Last, Bid or Ask, the color might change to green or red; and for High and Low, the color might change to yellow. If the color has changed to red, the new data for the field came in lower than the previous displayed data. If the color changes to green, the new data for the field came in higher than the previous displayed data. The yellow color signifies the new data was higher for the High field or lower for the Low field.
Linked Charts
Many active traders can greatly benefit from using linked charts. Linked charts are an excellent feature to quickly pull charts every time you enter a different symbol into the QuickQuote window. To enable pulling a chart along with a QuickQuote, click on the Linked chart box located in the bottom right corner of the QuickQuote window.
If there is no quote in QuickQuote, the new linked chart will not show any charts until a valid symbol is entered into QuickQuote.
There is a limit to how many QuickQuote windows and charts a user can open. Please reference the usage number from the main quote screen, located in the top right corner:
