Enhance Your Learning with Live Events

Boost your confidence, interact with new people and learn more about investing with Scottrade's Live Events. Whether you prefer a small-group seminar in your local branch office or a large regional event, Scottrade can help you meet your educational goals.

"Come in, try it out, and learn something new," said Doug Anderson, a Scottrade branch manager in Port Richey, Fla., who hosts Branch Seminars two evenings a week.

Anderson's customers say they get a lot out of the personal contact and helpful seminar topics, and they show it by coming back again and again. Located just north of Tampa, Anderson said he even has Scottrade customers come to his seminars while they're on vacation.

Doug Anderson (left), branch manager in Port Richey, Fla., hosts small-group educational Branch Seminars in his office twice a week.

"Customers usually start out with the basic seminars about navigating our Web site and learning about the different investment products we offer, but then as they build their confidence and want to take their trading to the next level, they come in for our ScottradeELITE and options seminars," Anderson said.

There are 11 different seminars available to customers, and the list is growing rapidly. All are offered free for customers, and guests are welcome. Anderson says the group learning environment is something his customers really enjoy.

"The camaraderie we see in our group seminars is fantastic," Anderson said. "Customers like being part of a group, they like learning from each other, and we get into some really interesting discussions together."

To register for a Branch Seminar near you, visit the Live Events section of the Knowledge Center and search by your location. Currently, more than 250 Scottrade branch offices nationwide host Branch Seminars.

Another way Scottrade customers come together to learn are User Summits, our popular regional conferences offered in 23 metropolitan areas each year. Customers are invited to spend the morning, afternoon, or the whole day with Scottrade representatives who provide fun and detailed guided tours of the tools available.

Kevin Jones, a broker in Scottrade's National Service Center in St. Louis, Mo., attends as many User Summits as he can to meet Scottrade customers and help further their learning.

"I love that 'wow' moment when customers see their investment potential and know they can use these tools to achieve their goals," Jones said. "The enthusiasm and optimism our customers show at User Summits just blows me away."

Jones said the educational benefits of User Summits are astounding.

"User Summits allow customers to get a better understanding of Scottrade and a higher degree of confidence," Jones said. "Their learning brings everything together and encourages them to move forward, hopefully making their investing more profitable."

In addition to helping customers increase their confidence level and trade in new ways, Jones said he enjoys making personal connections with customers that can't be achieved over the phone.

"It's an opportunity to get to know customers in a relaxed atmosphere," Jones said. "I call it 'live feedback' - I talk to customers and find out how I can make their trading experience better. I get excited all over again to come in to work after meeting our customers face to face."

Like all Scottrade educational resources, User Summits are offered free to customers. Sign up for a User Summit or Branch Seminar today in the Live Events section of the Knowledge Center, or contact your local branch office for more information.
