A sleek new Scottrader Streaming Quotes debuted this month with advanced new research and trading tools and a user-friendly look and feel.

"The new Scottrader tool provides the ability to gather extensive data quickly and the opportunity to implement trading decisions promptly," said Seamus Rowan, Product Analyst on the Scottrader Team. When you use Scottrader, you can now include up to 40 symbols on your watch lists, customize your main Quote Grid, toggle between multiple Scottrade accounts and create multiple layouts that match your investing needs.

To access the upgraded Scottrader tool, log in to your Scottrade account and click New Scottrader in the left navigation menu. The old Scottrader will remain available for a few months to allow you to transition to the upgraded version on your own schedule. Scottrade will notify you before the original version of Scottrader is removed from your account.

With the new version of Scottrader, you can...

• Chart using sophisticated tools. Scottrader offers 21 different technical indicators, with the ability to choose up to six indicators at a time when you create a chart. Draw your own trend lines and watch them grow in response to real-time streaming information during your Scottrader session. "The charting functionality offers duration flexibility for short and long-term chartists, whether you prefer one-second intervals or up to monthly intervals spanning out to 24 years," said Rowan. • Link multiple windows together. Using Scottrader's Linker feature, you can connect two or more windows so that the symbol you enter in one window will display in all linked windows simultaneously. For example, if the Full Quote and Chart windows are linked, entering XYZ in the Full Quote window will prompt the appearance of a performance chart for XYZ stock when the Chart window is opened. • Customize your Quote Grid window. Use the Configure and Settings links to customize the default settings of Scottrader inside your account. You can change the font size, choose a color theme, disable or enable pop-up alerts, select a default layout or change the order of information displayed in the Quote Grid. • Import watch lists from other platforms. With the new Scottrader, you can easily import lists from the trading website or the old Scottrader and upgrade your watch lists from 20 to 40 symbols each. • Toggle between accounts. If you have multiple Scottrade accounts, you can navigate to a different brokerage account from any account management or trading window with a quick click of the mouse. "You can also assign a default account to each of your Scottrader layouts and customize up to three layouts to match the investment strategy most relevant to your account type," said Rowan.
