In Bruges for the third time

One of my all-time favourites. Wont be the last time I'm seeing it.

Wet hot American summer

9/10

Very weird, but funny

Hotel Terminus

I liked it a lot. Similar to The Sorrow and the Pity in construction, but very different in tone.

Safe - 6/10

wasn't impressed, expected more, imo one of statham's worst

Haywire - 4.5/5

The Thing(2011)
8/10
Soo...whats so bad about this movie? Ties in nicely with Carpenter's The Thing.

That's the one with Adam Sandler and Chris Farley, right?

Yeah, hilarious cameo by Rob Schneider.

texas chainsaw massacre the beginning - 10/10

Brutal, brutal, brutal film. One of my fav horror movies.

The Avengers
9/10
Fun movie. Go see it!!!

Eden Lake

It's good, but it's not the best thing I ever saw. Still worth a buy though if you like your Horror movies, plus it's ending I really enjoyed.

Overall rating: 7.5/10

that ending was crazy! i loved this movie too...a horror gem that most people havent seen

Effi Briest

Gorgeous black and white photography and possibly Fassbinder's best mise en scene, but it lacks the immediacy and emotional proximity of his other films.

Hostage
Walking Tall

Gone With The Wind

9.4/10
5th time seeing this.

The Crow - 7.5/10
Showing its Age but i really enjoyed the world & Character, brandon lee was cool.

Act of Valor - 8.5/10

Much better then i expected, the action felt authentic and i think the navy seals did a good job. Cant think of a better Modern Military movie since Black Hawk that i have enjoyed as much as this tbh. Cracking film overall.

Funny Games

Better cast and more emotionally shocking than the American remake, but it's still the same contrarian one trick pony.

Such an incredible film, very sad and moving, but fucking hilarious. Great cast, great direction/script. JGL is really shaping up to be one of the greatest actors in history
i HIGHLY recommend this film

The Avengers - 9/10

Colour me impressed. Whedon did pretty much as good a job as possible with this film. I think the greatest feat he pulled was giving everyone their moment and everyone there fair share of screen time (particularly concerning Hawkeye and Black Widow).

Some of the best action scenes Ive seen in a superhero flick aswell.

And to anyone who has seen it

I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't seen the remake first. Definitely not on par with the other Haneke films I've seen(excluding his remake), but it's still alright. I didn't even realize he directed the remake until recently. I love Cache and The White Ribbon, not sure why he squeezed out an uninspired by the numbers remake of his own film between them.

Cache and The White Ribbon are great. I have the feeling that Haneke had a bad experience with an audience when he was younger and swore to give them everything they don't want.

The White Ribbon OMFG that movie is on a different plateau. GREAT. FUCKING. FILM.

If you haven't seen Cache, I'd recommend it. To describe why I like it would require slight spoilers, just watch it without reading anything about it.

Levitt is such a hoot in this film.

Lol, it was cool seeing all those actors so young.

I saw Cabin in the Woods. I missed the first 10 minutes. Anyone want to fill me in on what happens at the very beginning? Anyway, this movie made me lol, but the audience hardly did. Maybe they were expecting a straight up horror movie more than a satire so their minds were in a different place? Idk, but it was pretty solid. A 7.5/10 seems appropriate. Maybe a bit higher. Number scores are so arbitrary anyway.

Donnie Darko

7.5/10

2nd time seeing(saw it the first time 2 years ago). I would rate it higher, but some of the parts seem to be a bit drawn out. Like those parts could have been a bit shorter.

The Color Purple

This is the first time I'm watching this movie in probably about 15 or 16 years and it's the most I've ever enjoyed it. I guess me being "grown" now helps. Such a beautiful movie with amazing performances from all the cast. I am not ashamed to admit that I actually teared up quite a few times during this film. I can't find anything negative to say about it.

10/10

last movie: the good, the bad and the ugly, 10/10 it gets better every time i watch it,

"You see in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig."

last tv show: louie, 10/10, its the funniest show on tv

Avengers - 8/10

Just came back from it, its Good, Very good actually, its better then i think we all hoped & is easily for me the best Marvel movie yet.
I think the action and Special effects were great, pacing was good with them introducing each hero with some backstory individually, plus some pretty funny scenes which in particular is a bit of a mix bag for me.

That said judging by the response and reviews i think its a tad generous, i mean the story is soo cliche and predictable just like any other Marvel film tbh that i just didn't even care a whole deal, plus shit i got nothing wrong with a bit of funny dialogue here and there but it got silly after a while especially when you make a flaw imo of having the villian crack a few funny lines (hate that), for me just ruins the whole essence & supposedly Seriousness of the plot making loki in general as a weak villian. The whole cast just felt a bit laid back for an alien invasion.

For me its hard to look at CBM of today without some criticism after you see the likes of Nolan's Batman, Kick-ass & Watchmen which set the bar imo.

Was it the Director's cut?

8/10 The big lebowski.

I know i'm a bit late with watching this movie. Its definitively one of the weirder movies i've seen in my life.

2 solid comedies

1900

Man... that was really... bad.

I mean, sure it looks pretty, but not even close to the other Storaro-Bertolucci collaborations I've seen.

But hey, it does have Donald Sutherland headbutting a cat to death.
