FORMA.8 (2014)

In a distant future, the small exploration probe forma.8 is stranded alone on the surface of an alien planet. It will face great perils, discover ancient civilisations and dystopian visions.
But not everything is as it seems...

Knytt Underground (2014)

Fun platforming experience, mixing "zen-like gameplay" with a unique graphics style that's simply beautiful. The world is completely open and able to be explored how you want to explore it right from the jump.

Pier Solar and the Great Architects (2014)

Pier Solar has been developed from start to finish as a classic 16-bit RPG

Pier Solar boasts some impressive numbers: 50 hours of gameplay, 300 locations, and 800 unique NPCs to name a few, and they're all made even more impressive when you consider the 16-bit coat of paint that surrounds it all.

Tengami (2014)

Tengami is a shining example of what a Wii U indie game can truly be like. Set in a 3D Pop-Up Book version of ancient Japan, each landscape in Tengami looks like it belongs on the shelf of Japanese arts and crafts store. Every last piece of the world is a masterfully-crafted work of paper art, art that can be manipulated at our will in order to complete puzzles and get through the game.

Shovel Knight is still #1 on the (US) 3DS eshop recent release chart.

Now it's risen to #2 on the (US) Wii U eshop chart, with only Zelda Wind Waker ahead of it ...and Zelda is part of that free game promo if you buy Mario Kart 8

Nice to see its doing well

.....I just wish europe would get it soon

How to beat Shovel Knight 80's style

7 Days left...

Summary

Temporus is a two-dimensional adventure game that spans a variety of genres. If you like platformers, side-scrolling shooters, and RPGs, you might find that it's right up your alley.

The main premise of the game is time travel, but there are also lasers, missiles, and jellyfish. As you advance through the game, you'll begin to peel back the layers of the rich history surrounding this digital universe. You'll discover ancient artifacts, see flashbacks of forgotten battles, and learn about primitive technology that could help you save the universe from complete destruction.

There's also a solid team of artists dedicated to making Temporus more than just another platformer. We want this project to showcase video games as the art form that we believe them to be, which is why it's essential that we raise the funds to pay our talent. We're planning to release the game on the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms, and we have high hopes that we'll eventually publish to the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Xbox One.

I thought this already would've been posted but here goes:

About

Midora (pronounced "mid-ora") is a love letter to the classic 2D action-adventure games, like The Legend of Zelda or Secret of Mana, that have frequented consoles and enamored audiences for generations. With a charming world to explore, new mechanics to learn and quests to fulfill all while hopefully tugging at your nostalgic heartstrings, Midora seeks to bring you the same tried and true feel of familiar titles, but with the grace of a new, modern experience, with in a beautiful, 100% pixel art setting.

-Fight using sharp swords and manipulate water to beat your opponents.
-Crawl through 12 unforgiving dungeons, each with their own challenges and boss.
-Discover ancient tools and forgotten magics to solve puzzles, some of them only available at night!
-Meet colorful characters and identify their roles, for even threats can help you on your journey.
-Collect, mine, fish, enchant, alchemize and craft over 200 unique items, from common food to potions with silly effects, from crafting materials to devastating runes!
-Journey on a huge map, from your village at the bottom of the map to the very top of a volcano, making stops in various cities and visiting the King's castle.

Story:

Midora is a colorful world, crafted by an ancient architect with the elements as his tools. For an eternity after this creation, those elements populated the world, fashioning cultures and kingdoms all their own. They contested each other for land and prestige, and when the world was finally overwhelmed by the strife, the architect came back down to seal the elements away, preserving the world for its lesser inhabitants.

This harmony lasted for centuries, until even the eldest tribes had only vague memories of the conflict and its participants. The town of Seawind will be the first to remember the Inferno in earnest.

Enter Snow, the lead character of this adventure. A young girl growing up on the edge of Seawind, she embarks on what starts as just a simple chore, only to uncover the catalyst in a war as old as the world she lives in. On her journey, she will encounter help and obstacles in various forms. Elderly town matrons, kings, long extinct races, burly blacksmiths, and the living elements themselves will play a role in Midora's newest story, but it falls to Snow herself to see it to the end.

Master Reboot in the eShop

Master Reboot takes place inside the Soul Cloud, a virtual world created to upload the memories of a person - essentially their soul - so that after death, they can be visited by relatives and loved ones. After a massive success, something disastrous has destroyed the server, leading to a major crisis that mysteriously leaves you on a beach after a crash in the Soul Cloud. This is where your adventure starts.

From the very beginning to the very end, Master Reboot proves it's not like other games. The game doesn't tell its story in any traditional sense, as far as full cutscenes or dialogue boxes. You don't know your name, what you're doing in the Soul Cloud, and potentially whether you're the actual protagonist or antagonist.

Somewhere, high up in the sky, the Mollusc God rises above his cloudy worktable. With an almighty sneeze, Snot is born. The Mollusc God, unsatisfied with his work so far, squeezes and strains until a single snail shell is produced. The shell, brimming with hidden potential, sits proudly on the little gastropod's back.

Suddenly, in a puff of green smoke, a mysterious figure appears, and strikes the Mollusc God with a bolt of lightning. The Mollusc God, stricken with rage, flies away on a rampage. An evil force has corrupted him! A shocked onlooker, the Freezy-WingSnail, jumps up and freezes Snot into a ball of ice- and just in time, too, as the evil Mollusc God swoops down from above, KOing the icy creature.

Snot tumbles through the clouds, safely plopping into the ocean.

Sometime later, he washes up on a beach. As he slowly thaws out from the ball of ice, many questions circle around his head: Where am I? Who was the mysterious character with the skull for a face? And most importantly: What is the purpose of my existence?!

All will soon be clear, little mollusc.

Lone Survivor will launch on Wii U before the end of the year, publisher Curve Studios announced in a tweet today. Hooray, another way to lose your sanity while attempting to escape a city overrun with vicious, murderous monsters and disease. Lone Survivor truly is a lovely, incredibly creepy horror game.

Curve is also working to bring The Swapper and Stealth Inc. 2 to Wii U this year - and in that same tweet it teased a fourth game headed to Nintendo's newest platform.

i have that game on both Vita and PC...and i still don't play it -_-

i really need to tackle my fucking backlog man damn

I was going to buy Lone Survivor the other day on Steam, but I think I'll hold off now and get it on Wii U.

What is that about? I still can't quite figure it out.

Steoandnoodles:
What is that about? I still can't quite figure it out.

I left a link to the Kickstarter (see above)

It's basically a metroidvania title with a bizarre, philosophical & artsy-fartsy story. I really think it holds a lot of promise & will be a good choice for Wii U.

Well it certainly looks nice, that's for sure.

AhHereSteve:

Can't believe you changed your name

Haha

Ah it needed changing, I think.

So Teslagrad will be getting a retail release now. That's pretty strange and cool.

Playstation 4 and Wii U are definitely stretch goals! We are also very interested in other consoles, handhelds, tablet, etc and will make decisions about those versions based upon success of this campaign, interest and opportunity.

Aegis is an Action/RPG platformer for PC/Mac that combines the best of 16bit era adventure titles like Metroid with defense arena inspired combat.

I hope the Shadowgate remake comes to the WiiU. Looks amazing.

Where the hell is Shovel Knight for Europe?

^ They're working on translation now. They posted a screenshot of the French translation on Twitter.

Can I post this here since the 3DS section is... sort of barren?

SteamWorld Dig headed to Wii U on August 28

SteamWorld Dig is coming to Wii U on August 28. The game will be released in Australia, the Americas, and Europe at the same time, in 1080p running at a full 60fps. The game supports off-TV play with the GamePad, or you can use the Pro Controller to play. If you played the game on the Nintendo 3DS last year and you're wondering what the differences between this version and that version are, here's a short list:

- HD graphics: Beautiful, high-resolution (1080p) graphics
- Eye candy: Animated character portraits, bloom filter, tweaks and polish
- Customizable screen interface and controls
- Languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Russian
- Clutter-free HD graphics. The map and other interface elements are now displayed on the Wii U GamePad
- Off-TV Play. Continue digging on the Wii U GamePad even when your TV is occupied or turned off
- Support for Wii U Pro Controller
- And maybe there's an Easter egg somewhere?

I bought Abyss for the bargain price of 44p as a special offer. Got 75% off cos I'd already bought Unepic (which is great btw). The game is fantastic. You control a submarine with a light on the end and have to negotiate underwater caverns to collect balls of energy and find the exit. You control movement with the left analog stick and a thrust button which has the light as the point of thrust which is at the top of the sub. So pressing thrust when you first start moves your ship upwards, and your ship automatically goes right side up. When you hit a wall your ship flashes red for a second or two, if you hit a wall a second time when red you destroy your ship.

It takes a bit of skill to control, and gives you plenty of "RIGHT!!! Just ONE more go!!!" moments.

Great value even at its full price of £1.79. Most of the work has been done by 3 blokes too.

Abyss is a really great game, I had my reservations but I would have been a fool to ignore the 44p price tag. It's an intense experience & you really feel yourself improving with each attempt. I found myself getting frustrated & excited in a matter of seconds, even if you only play it for 10 minutes, the experience offered is still better than most AAA big budget games.
