Help recognize and unite bloggers located around the world by participating in the third annual International Weblogger's Day, also called InWeDay.

Has the Open Source community developed into a farm team of sorts for software developers? It is apparent that one of the most visible ways to display your skills and get noticed is through participation in one of the open source initiatives, whether it be Mozilla, Apache, etc.

One of our students developed Webride, a novel platform for discussing what you like, and where you like:
Webride automatically attaches discussion forums to each and every web page on the Internet.

I used to be a member of Clan PMS. We were the world's first, and only (for a little while there) all-female Quake clan, formed so the few women who were playing at the time could hang out together.

Last month I had a conversation with a friend about the best version of Windows. Neither of us could live without many of the features such as encryption or access privileges integrated with Windows XP Pro. So we both agreed that Windows XP Pro was the best choice.

The Christian Science Monitor reports, "When representatives from some 75 nonprofits convene in Boston Tuesday, they'll tackle a subject that was seldom discussed 10 years ago because it smacked too much of corporate America."

I wonder how many different nationalities we have at Newsvine. I believe for Newsvine to have a real international news coverage we need to find out where do we have correspondents and where are our readers too.

Yesterday, I read an article in odd news that reported some information about a supposed affair between President Bush and Secretary of State Rice. The "odd news" designation occurred because, as the seeder noted--it was an utter rumor.

Well, after being active for a few days and having corrected some of my mistakes, I have decided to do as a few others, to introduce myself properly.
Who am i in less than forty words

We may believe that the whole is greater than sum of its parts, but when labels don't apply - what defines you?
I have read a lot of interesting profiles here on Newsvine and impressed by the diverse and unique company we keep -- even call friends.

A short rundown of the current situation in the social networking websites realm. fo.rtuito.us and AirTroductions are on the edge between networking and dating.

A new feature that I just noticed here on Newsvine (not sure if there has been any official word yet) is the ability to track your friends' comments (and other activity) across the Vine.

Jumping on a bandwagon is not my usual style, yet I not only joined Newsvine within hours of it's release, but I am also responding to Mykola Bilokonskys request for us all to write some self introductions. I guess then I should start with the basics.

Here's my completely original and unique idea of writing an intro not at all influenced by Mykola Bilokonsky, other then the fact that the idea came to me directly after reading theirs, and that I'm completely ripping off the idea. ;)

I also decided to participate on Mykola Bilokonsky's self-intro idea. I am Brazilian and currently live in Switzerland. I really enjoy football and my posts on Newsvine are mainly about it, but I also post occasionally about other random things.

So we've got all sorts of swank new features, and I felt that this warranted a renewed statement of just who the hell I am and what I'm about (complete with a new photograph, which I am contemplating changing back to something more evil).

As you might've noticed, we've dropped a few goodies your way this week.
