For Carry-On, David Horvitz has packed works by various artists in his carry-on luggage, and carried them from Brooklyn to Den Haag. He brought nothing more than allowed, and nothing more than he could carry. The works were subjected to customs and airline security checks and restrictions. While in transit, they moved in proximity of his body. Included are paintings of knives by Paul Branca (sharp objects, among other things, are not allowed in carry-on luggage) painted with metallic silver paint with the hopes of images of knives showing up in the security x-ray. Marc Handelman provided a Code Orange Terror Alert shirt designed by Prem Krishnamurthy. Dexter Sinister provided newspapers to wrap the other works in, to prevent them from being damaged while in motion. Etc...
