Paris, which is approximately 2h15 from Strasbourg, becomes accessible with the high-speed TGV train. French high-speed trains are, without a doubt, the best way to travel between major cities. If you're travelling on Thalys, TGV or Eurostar, you are allowed to two large items each (maximum 3'' in any one dimension), plus one small hand luggage. The train brings you directly from Strasbourg Gare to Gare de l'Est station. You can then pick from any one of the public transport lines: 4 or 7. The trainstation of Gare de l'Est is situated at the heart of Paris.
