Option Chains

Selecting Expirations

When the Option Chain window opens, the list of contracts shows those with the nearest standard expiration by default. (Remember, the standard expiration date is the third Friday of the month.)

Multiple expiration dates can be viewed on the same chain to help you compare strike prices at multiple expiration points. To add an expiration, select one of the expiration badges shown above the Option Chains table.

To remove an expiration from the chain, click the corresponding expiration badge again.

Trading from the Option Chain Window

Trades can be placed from the Option Chain by right-clicking on the desired option row. Select the option you want to trade from the pop-up menu. The option symbol you selected will be sent to the order entry window where additional order information can be entered.
