Even though I was not active on this site anymore, I remember the good times years ago. The goopy and labwarrior era was amazing. I feel like they should keep the forums running. I was really active back then.. Shame my avatar/sig/postcount got reset.
a shame, been here for quite a while too (old account got banned for something, forgot why, lol) - been here since 2008-ish. Only thing i will really miss the most will be kyle bosman and his show.
The forum changes were enough to drive me away from them, so i don't have a hard time for that part, but i will miss the reviews they did, brandon has such a good voice for it, so i will deff miss his performance in the future.
I pretty much post on IGN now. But I'd be up for keeping up with any one who actually remembers me. lol. Nintendo fans specifically, even if we've had some spats here and there.
Damn, gt has been my home for years. i always loved the quality of the content it made. what is gonna happen to all of that now (not that i can find most of it. with the state of the current site after the migration no wonder its closing).
Glad i've been a part of this, even though i dont contribute that often. but thats just me i guess :p
Goodbye gt, ill miss you. And goodbye to everyone here
Sheria: Well, this truly is some sad news. This place really has been a little home away from home for me for a long time now.
I just want to say thank you to all the people I met here on GT over the last decade. A big thank you to the old Omnigamers and all of its members. Lordwindowlicker, Zulux, Greg, Jak, Mazer, Whitelight etc, those times really meant a lot to me.
A shout out to some other members as well: Adventurer (I know we have had ups and downs but I still have a plethora of fond memories), Cweeny, Talax, Narros, Kudan, Longview ... I just know there are many, many more. Of course, I must also say ta ta to Deisel (Black-Cell), such a crazy but ultimately funny guy; the back and forth was fun, if not sometimes a tad aggravating.
I personally can't see myself moving on, i've been on and off about dropping forums for a few years now and this seems like a good time. But thank you to GT and its Staff for keeping this place going for as long as you have, it shows some real dedication.

Never forget...
How can we forget, he's still here under a new name

Not the same tho, we all used to troll his blogs and get loads of thumbs up and when he did it back he just got thumbed down like mad.
Wish I had taken a screenshot of his profile to show the amount of thumbs down he had in total
Not sure I'll be bothered moving to a new forum, GT is the only forum I've ever posted on as the rest just didn't do it for me. I've been part of the Steam group mentioned here(but never posted there either :D ) for years so I'll keep an eye on that and see what happens.
Screw the outsiders who are trying to capitalize on our misfortunes of losing our online home. By attempting to recruit us to their crap holes.
There's a reason many of us never left here. The layout and community is unrivaled to practically anything else out there. Many of us attempted to look for other sites to join and I personally only in the last week gave IGN a chance. But right now I'm not even feeling forums after this blow.
I may join VGChartz as well but for now, it's time for me to get some rest for the coming work day. Here's hoping the forums are still up when I am, so that some others might have the chance to say final goodbyes I'd love to read.
Not really GT related but while I was looking for old images I came across this one of my bedroom back when I first started using GT...how things have changed since then
AC-Revolution: I joined in 2006, this really feels like the end of an era.
I remember the times where we would be in a fanboy discussion between Xbox 360 and PS3 and were like "wait till AC gets here, he'll give the verdict!" and whatever you said people would take as a fact, good times. I especially remember what you once wrote about Alan Wake: Day/Night cycle, weather simulation, mass physics, 64-bit hdr, geometry tesselation, volumetric lighting.
Without even knowing what any of that meant, I would copy paste it in every time I needed to prove the 360 was powerful, lol. Especially in arguements with goopy20, which I'm sure you remember aswel.
dammets: Bringing back memories of some of the sillier running jokes that were shared here.
Sniping with a shotgun 9.3 That dude with the gears of war locust as his avatar, forgot his name
Then there were things like Procne's movie nights and gt blogs and levels
I remember systemshock making new accounts all the time, I remember that girl/guy who always talked about shadow of the colossus. I remember database errors and the day the forums were split into alternate universes. Good times.

I wish I hade the Foresight to save all my images back when GT hade photo albums, lost all my old stuff when the site first swapped over to a new design.
Back then I hade a really old pc that ran doom 3 on ultra ummm mah guard da power, many years past that pc has been laid to rest along with all my shit I lost.
