You know what I'm seriously going to miss this place. Had so many memories within this website and forum as well as it has been my main site for gaming even with the existence of Reddit and other social media site.

And I don't care what anyone say for me, this place had the best gaming community I ever been with; no matter how many stupid threads and discussions that were created I was plenty of great and enjoyable threads during my time here.

I wish good things for everyone in this site, you will not be forgotten as you have honestly been a big part of my late teen/early adult years.

NeoGAF is the nexus of double standards. They claim their moderation is strict by the rules, but their moderators (not all of them) ban people if they don't like what they post based on their feelings. Bish, the head moderator, is a Sony fanboy who worked with Adam Boyes before and doesn't hesitate to ban anyone who speaks negative about Sony or their practises. Added to that, thoughful and in-depth discussion about sensitive subjects like racism, sexism etc. is strictly prohibited at GAF. Before you can explain your views you'll be banned with a label 'sexist', 'racist' or whatever.

Oh boy, and then there is this king of douches, the owner of NeoGAF, Tyler Malka, who has a God complex and is openly sexist. That guy once sexually harassed a woman in a bar in Spain and was bragging about it. When users would point out that his actions were wrong, he would ban them. No exceptions. He also once pressured a NeoGAF user to go out with him, on that same Spain trip of his. When she wouldn't meet up, he would act like a dick. She called him out on his action on the forum and he banned her and anyone who defended her.

NeoGAF would be nice if you were to live in the world of Equilibrium: emotionless. The owners is a sexist hypocrite, the moderators have not-so-hidden agendas and are biased (not all though). What is a forum if you can't speak your mind? Fuck NeoGAF.

I subscribed to this forum just to tell you I will miss this website, the content but MOST OF ALL its crew enormously.. I watched your material on a daily basis (great bathroom-material :)) and absolutely love(d) it.

Please find another way to continu with this amazing crew and keep producing the shows, like Final Bosman, Huber Hype, Mandatory Update and GT Time (my favorite podcast!!).

All the best, you guys rock & really were part of my life for a long time (with trying to sound dramatic)..

i've been part of this site since the early IW days. i never checked any other gaming sites besides GT. they were the best! they did things no1 else in the industry had the ballz to do. each member was so distinctively diverse. they are the most authentic and natural guys in the internet. and that's whut i like the most - they were anti mainstream! if i look at all the sites, the writing, podcasts and peeps were all the same. GT was the most unique site among them. tho i'm not surprised about this news it still breaks my heart, since the mainstream society won once again. i admit they should've done certain things different but i 100% loved everything they produced.
a mighty giant fell and tried to recover, unfortunately it didn't make it back to 100% health and now it's gone for real.
don't listen to any hater, coz clearly those maintstream followers don't appreciate your unique work and personality.

Well, there's this. I'll definitely be watching.

I first found GT towards the tail end of Middle school, as oddly it was one of the few gaming sites that got thru the filter (Oddly enough IGN was banned for the use of games, but GAMEtrailers and GAMEspot made it thru lol) I used to look forward to getting to school early and heading to the computer lab and just watch the new reviews that were being posted (of which only about 20 I think were up when I first found GT) school ended an during the summer my parents finally upgrade our Internet to anything that wasn't dial up. I lurked thro the fourms for a week or two until I finally made this account. I based my name on what I had been obsesed with at he tim Devil May Cry, having S ranked every mission on all 3 game (the special edition of 3, let alone 4 had yet to be released) thus making the moniker DMCMaster. The first few months the account was split between me and my little brother as a way to try an earn GTD faster, but after about a month he gave up. I do remember him making a few stupid threads (one about playing Mario Sunshine with diarrhea comes to mind) but as I spent more time here I felt like I could call a number of people here my friends, something I admittedly didn't have many of at school (and still really dont). I remember using my blogs for random BS before I decided to start using it to write reviews. Mostly things I owned or had rented from Blockbuster, But I wrote trying to take whatever criticism that was constructive and better my writing. I learned that when it came to movies or games I should wait a day or two after beating it, let things sink in so that I avoid writing "Hype" reviews as I called them. I learned to better my format, to keep what I was writing consistent (I remember doing a review for Nier and bringing up the OST every 3rd or 4th sentence) I wrote reviews at first thinking it was an easy way to get noticed and possibly hired some place, but whats a critic for anything if they are devoid of personality (something my reviews kinda lacked at the start) Sadly by the time I was getting better at writing AT&T; stuck my parents with a $400 bill and never explained what caused it to jump that high, thus I was without Internet unless I went to my grandparents house.

But during that time I kept writing, saving stuff to a flash drive planning a little event out of my return, then GT went thru its frist redesign, I held out hope that Blogs an factions would return....But we know how that turned out.

This saddens me greatly. Gametrailers was the ONE sight that allowed me to be me. It allowed me to bring humor and independent thought to the forums. Not like that shitty cesspool like Neogaf, that has mods that ban you for simply expressing an thought they disagree with! I shall cry tears of urine at the passing of Gametrailers.

I don't know how many users even know of this but, I remember there was a Chinese knock-off site of GT way back in '07 or '08. Literally -- it looked exactly the same as GT. Everything and including videos at that point, was on that site. I remember someone asking UltimateBrent about it if it was illegal or if they're gonna do anything about it but, Brent pretty much said it was out of their hands.

I REALLY wish I still had a link to that site. Just to see if they had vBulletin forums going or if it even changed. Shoot, the AVGN videos in there literally had subtitles in them too.

Can't believe it's over, i probably view and enter the site since its first years and have been coming back every day to check. Just want to say that i always dreamt of becaming a game designer and today i do it, gametrailers has been a font of motivation a inspiration that i used since it's beggining, i'm from Brazil, and that show how far you reached, you guys impacted lifes of many people and for this you can be proud. Hope that you guys have sucess in whatever is to come, because you deserve it and have the talent, in the games industry or what new way you choose, this is a chance to start anew.

Gonna miss Brandon Jones voice in reviews and everything.

Been a long ride or me just scouring around and not really posting just hanging around. Been coming to this site since I was 13 back in 2003. Account created in 2005. When I was 15. I am now 25. Gonna be 26 in a few months... Its been a long ride for me to be here. See so many different changes to the site. Seemed bigger with a lot more people a few years back. But still a nice community here now. I am sad to see it go... As this website has been around for many years of my life. From getting a lot of friends and getting real friends to use it...
