Today Scottrade is more than an online brokerage company. We're also a provider of investment education that can help you become better at trading and investing. For instance, we host more than 300 educational events either online or in-person every week. Our collection of investment education articles and videos in our Knowledge Center has grown to more than 3,000 in the past year. And the total number of clients who actively participate in our Online Community topped 65,000.

The numbers show we’ve placed a high value on investment education. An initiative we started five years ago and work to continuously build upon and improve. A good example of this commitment is the new home page found within our Knowledge Center that we launched last month for all of our in-person and online events.

Before this launch we featured events across several different websites. It wasn’t easy to find the events and it wasn’t clear whether a topic was appropriate for your level of expertise.

Now when you visit www.Scottrade.com/events you can easily navigate and find information about upcoming branch seminars, webinars and podcasts all in one place. We’ve even added filters so you can search topics such as “trading strategies” or “portfolio management.” I’m especially excited about the new learning level and strategy focus displays that can help you quickly assess whether an event would be of value to you.

We’re also focused on creating several series of events that build off each other. We’ve come to realize that our events cannot be one-off experiences. Instead, each individual educational experience should serve as a springboard to the next. Where you can get helpful information about our trading tools through our webinars, and then participate in deeper discussions at branch seminars to learn how to apply what you know and implement certain strategies with those tools. It’s one more way we are making it more convenient for you to find events and topics that are most relevant to you and your level of expertise.

Personally, I think this is an exciting time to be a self-directed trader or investor. There are so many pieces of content and educational opportunities available that not only let you choose how you want to learn, but also let you learn at your own pace – even while you’re on the go. If you’re open to the possibilities, it’s all there at your fingertips.

As we continue to gain insight into what you want to learn and need to be more successful, what you experience and how you engage with us will evolve. Because for us it’s far more than creating and delivering a depth of educational resources or customizable experiences, it’s about helping you.

Hi, I have made UK investments in the past (not trading), and I wanted to learn some more about how to invest. I found factors related to invest in India.

1. India's balanced equity market is linked to, but not reliant on the West
2. India has accumulated very healthy foreign exchange reserves of close to Â200bn
3. Investor confidence has increased greatly with a recent Â20bn inflow

Do these things watch with what you look at regarding investment?
thank you
