Charles & Colvard Appoints Marvin Beasley as President and CEO Following Retirement of Randy McCullough

MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 18, 2015-- Charles & Colvard, Ltd. (NASDAQ:CTHR), the original and leading worldwide source of Classic Moissanite(TM) and Forever Brilliant(R) , The World's Most Brilliant Gem(R) , announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Marvin Beasley to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Effective immediately, Mr. Beasley, a current member of the Board of Directors of Charles & Colvard, will succeed Randy McCullough, who informed the Board of his retirement as President, CEO, and Director on March 17, 2015. Mr. McCullough will support the transition in an advisory consulting role.

Company Background

Charles & Colvard, Ltd. (Charles & Colvard) manufactures, markets, and distributes Charles & Colvard Created Moissanite jewels (which the Company refer to as moissanite or moissanite jewels), finished jewelry featuring moissanite and fashion finished jewelry for sale in the worldwide jewelry market. Moissanite, also known by its chemical name of silicon carbide (SiC) is a rare mineral first discovered in a meteor crater. The Company manages its business primarily by its product lines, and accordingly, it determined its two operating and reporting segments to be loose jewels and finished jewelry. The Company sells loose moissanite jewels and finished jewelry at wholesale to distributors, manufacturers, and retailers and at retail to end consumers through its wholly owned operating subsidiaries Moissanite.com, LLC and Charles & Colvard Direct, LLC. The Company focuses on the development, manufacturing and distribution of near-colorless moissanite jewels.
