mungo jerry - in the summertime

best song to cool that heat

At least I can browse this forum in-between Medieval 2 turns.

Nearing the end of Alpha Protocol, enjoyed it even if I don't care much for the story. Writing is good enough and I like the character interactions.

Game becomes pretty silly once you have 25 seconds invisibility that doesn't break when you knockdown enemies though.

May run through it once more after I am done, so many choices that could potentially change so much.

Punched someone in Crysis and his body killed me. What the shit.

You should, and don't go to the same locations in the same order as your last playthrough.
AP to me was a flawed gem, I loved it.

hey guys, since idk where to look of it was thread worthy ill just ask in here

from what book/novel should i start reading the warhammer series and where can i buy them digitally? (outside theUS)

Warhammer Fantasy or 40K?

For 40K everyone seems to say Horus Rising is a good place to start. is it is the starting point in the Horus Heresy series of books which is key to the whole universe really, acts as a bit of an 'origin story' to some degree.

You get get it digitally (along with most 40K books it seems) at the Black Library site.

http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/Horus-Rising-ebook.html

whats the difference? i got interested because of the game they made recently WH 40k: space marine, it just feels really cool knowing all the story of it

and thanks for supplying the link

PS: have the PC games as well all of them, one of my favorite series on pc

Warhammer fantasy settings is more similar to those typical fantasy worlds in a medieval setting.

Stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86Xd5LrRBeI or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEqi2ZrNv0g&feature=fvwrel

Obviously different that the setting of Space Marine. Basically both universe share many aspects, like the races (though not all), but one is set in the "past" and other is set in the far future.

I already replied before but I guess you missed it.

I just finished ready Horus Heresy: The Seeds of Heresy are Sown and think it was an excellent. Can't wait to continue with the series

Spoiler: This game made your choices irrelevant before Mass Effect 3 did. I think there are two or three endings and that is it, pretty lame if you ask me. I remember being hyped as the game made it sound like failure was an option when it truly isnt.

Oh hey, were back. Is it me, or do the forums feel faster now?

Last of the Mohicans has been my favorite for many years.

Damn. For some reason I can't properly extract one of the songs from an album I have. I can listen to it just fine from CD but when I extract it the file doesn't even get detected by my music player. I tried Exact Audio Copy and Audiograbber and neither brought me the wanted results, what else could I try?

Did someone say best Movie Soundtracks?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jtpf8N5IDE

As if I would care about live performances :P

STALKER-2033:
whatever, The Rock is By far my fav Movie of all time. Epic Story, amazing characters and tons of Actions. its been a long time since i blown away that much by any movie. Die hard 4 was also amazing but not even close to Rock. same goes to Mission Impossible ghost protocol.

Any action Movie u ppls recommend me?

Esacpe from New york, and LA.

It has a badass with an eyepatch named snake who has to rescue the president in New york which is a prison now. Escape from LA has the best ending to any film ever!

Also you must see Robocop 1 if you havnt seen it.

The Lion King has the best soundtrack of any movie, ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdPy4crWuCA

Terminator 2 has best film track ever!

Na, this is the best movie fucking soundtrack ever!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AiSbxZYViE

Star Trek the motion picture! Yep thats the best movie theme of all time!

I think Spirited Away has a really good score. Then again, that is my favorite movie of all times too so I'm bias.

And I'm more excited at the next Humble Bundle than the Camp Sale. Weird? Nah.

The Walking Dead episode 2 was pretty incredible. Just played the whole second episode through, some of the choices really got me thinking. For those who played it...

hmmm...
I've seen some gameplay that got me interested in the walking dead.I like the fact that it's not just another zombie shooter(i had enough of those)Is it neccesary to be familiar with the comics or tv series in order to understand the story of the game?

Gonna buy The Walking Dead soon. Either during the sale, or if it doesn't drop during the sale, then I'll just buy it after. I want it. NAOW.

Also, SUPERLOL at Diesel saying anything about The Rock is good. What a pathetic, cliche hollywood piece of shit that movie is. So patriotic, it's sickening. Even the fucking badguy is a patriot.

After that statement, there's only one thing I can recommend that you do. But I can't say it, because I'll be banned for saying horrible things.

You probably think The Zookeeper is a great comedy, Avatar is a great space opera, and Paranormal Activity is a great horror movie too, don't you? You probably think National Treasure rivals Raiders of the Lost Ark?The Departed is better than Infernal Affairs? Oh wait, of course you've never seen Infernal Affairs. You have probably never even seen Stalker either, have you? The movie upon which the game-series is loosely based?

I know it's all opinions, and opinions are subjective... But your opinion is just wrong. I'm sorry. So go find a new one.

Nope, is completely its own thing. I watched the first season of the TV show but have never read the comic (yet), there are one of two instances of cross over but it is still very much its own self contained story.

And I agree with you about it not being just another zombie story/shooter. The game treats the subject like all the best zombie stuff...looking at the impact on the characters and their relationships and how far people will go in extreme situations, the setting is just the catalyst.

I got it from amazon US for $25 which ends up being around 16-ish. Certainly worth it for me personally at that price.

Huh, XiDiO has 1 warning? Color me surprised. But I don't know if it a good thing to show it to everyone.

Was it when you said "another stupid responde" or in that thread ?
because if it was, then it's a well placed warning.

PT-Desu:

If that's a well-placed warning, then I know about 50 other people on this forum who also deserve a warning. Including myself. Every week I see a bunch of posts where someone quotes someone else, saying "that's a stupid thing to say". I'm sure I've said it a few times myself, too. I get that it has to do with the context, and many times when these words are uttered, the person quoted DID say something stupid (like "PC gaming is dead" or "this game sucks because it's from a genre I don't like"), but still. One for all and all for one.

mfw the GTA V Section on GTAForums.com has more users online than this forum does over all, and it's been 8 months since any V stuff got released

Also, Diesel, did you like Max Payne 3? Was it a Maxterpiece?

Fuck it...no glamorous speech

I am done with GT

Bye

I hate when Total War games crash during or after battles...

XiDiO:
GT and its rule system/warning system is just bull. IT needs a complete overhaul and improvement, because it doesnt work, most of the warnings dont even make sense. You see users on regular basis call others "idiots" and other foul mouthed words, but they get no warnings or temp bans.

If you don't report then don't complain about moderators not being omnipresent Gods. While we may notice some infractions in threads we visit ourselves, it's not in our work description to visit every thread, unless something major happens.

Now, there is another idea, you should like it - the fact that your account isn't permabanned at the moment is a result of a technical error. We can fix it very quickly now for your accounts.

Incoming glamorous speech

Well...I suppose this it.

I know announcing you are 'leaving' a forum (whatever that really means) is a bit of an insignificant thing in the grand scheme of things however I don't really care and am going to do it anyway. I will post this here as this is pretty much the place where the people I am most interested in post these days.

I probably began really lurking GT in mid 2007, not quite as long as a good few people here but still a fairly substantial time ago nonetheless and a hell of a lot has happened in that time in my life and gaming habits. I joined and made an account in 2008, I would have been about 17 then which seems pretty crazy considering I am just about 22 now.

Back then I was primarily an xbox 360 gamer and had a pretty shitty PC but still fondly remember being a part of the now defunct 'PC enthusiast faction' which probably had some of the best people and the best forums on the site. Utterly fantastic faction and community, I remember even taking a part in their great weekly skype podcast waaay back, the only time I have done something like that...I also remember being a part of the GTA IV faction as well as the founder of the 'Spore Faction' (lol) way back. Sadly those guys left...rightly so to be fair to them, they wanted to try something bigger and I respect them a lot for that, GT has never been a great bastion of PC gaming love.

This site is probably one of the reasons I utterly love PC gaming, users here helped me build, troubleshoot and fix my PC and really helped ignite a passion for tech and components, I have learned a lot from a lot of people and hope I have passed on a lot to others.

I believe it was before E3 2010 when I applied and was eventually asked to be a sectional moderator for the PC forum, pretty exciting stuff for me however as I am sure you will hear time and time again being of moderator isn't what it is cracked up to be, you get a lot of shit through PM's and messages on steam and it can feel as hassle sometimes, no-one is ever thankful or happy with what you do. I have a lot of respect for all the other mods on this forum.

I have always tried to treat others in posts as I would if I was talking to them in real life, I have always tried to shy away from being a dick to others hope others have considered my posts to be at least worth a read (which is pretty fucking crazy when you think about it, all over the world people are reading random shit I post...Christ)

Since the start of the year (and before the redesign) I just don't feel quite as active. Being honest a lot of this is coming from outside forces, I need to spend my time more carefully if I am going to push forward with the most important people in my life. GT is therefore being squezzed out, the site redesign has pushed a little as well if I am completely honest, I was hoping that it would revitalise my interest a bit but it turns out it has just become a good place to draw a line.

If I am honest this isn't a full farewell...I will no doubt still lurk and maybe even post every now and then.Plus I will surely still be on steam, I know I have a bunch of you already on there.

However, it is a goodbye, at least for now.
