	Nyxus: Good old times. A video of mine was once selected as the User Movie of the Week. That was awesome. I recall seeing that. It was really a joy for the time GT users uploaded videos for the community to see. And get rewarded for their effort with GTP that could go towards winning something in the Auction house. Mazer's videos were a nice addition to the community too.

	damn had some fun times in GT back then (2008-2011). sucks its closing but the changes killed this site long ago.

	Yeah well, what do you expect Whatever moron/s were changing it constantly are to blame. Adding new dumb features while removing those that made people stay like factions, their forums, level and blog posts. The site was basically a youtube channel with its own features and forums before youtube was even youtube, regulated to a large extent by the community itself. But somehow some twat at corporate/higher levels was so worried about being left behind that the dumb fuck brought everything down inadvertently. FFS, they even have misspelled names right now, at the bottom of the page (Halo 5 Gaurdians" All we wanted was a site to watch videos about games and the features that made GT unique and worthwhile visiting. But your MBA degree/mentality "herpaderp ima running a business" thought it wasn't good enough, removed the good stuff and threw countless other shit to see what stuck. Seal the coffin once and for all and be done with it.

	I made another account just to post this. I Joined in 2008 but didn't post until around early 09. Doubt anyone will remember me but I went under the name TimeSplitterMonkey and BurnoutLegend. These forums were the first ones I ever made an account for. Ive been getting a nostalgia looking through this thread. Goodbye to my first internet home.

	Damn shame, I really liked the site and the people behind it! I do have to admit though that I wasn't really visiting GT much since that last overhaul, after being on here a few times a week before. What I wanted from the site was to download game trailers and later the original content as well. Since the changes I only watched about a dozen GT videos, and that on Youtube. Best wishes to the whole GT crew, you guys are great and I hope you'll all find new, satisfying jobs soon! <3

	Hello everybody, this is my first (and probably last post). I didn't know where else to put this or how to reach GT, so here goes: Dear Gametrailers, I don't know if you will ever get to read this, but regardless I wanted to personally thank you for the past few years. Although, when I say "few" I mean approximately ten. I started watching GT shows when I was around sixteen I believe and as I am writing this I am 26 years old. You guys have been with me (and in a sense I have been with you) for some of the most important periods of my life. E3s came and went, consoles came and went and some of my favourite games of all time have been released during that time. You will probably hear this more than once (and I don't mind being part of that pile), but it feels like you helped me on my personal way. You didn't write my tests or fight my demons, but you provided joy or at least distraction, when the walls were closing in on me. There have been so many moments, where your videos made me feel a little better when I was down, wrestling with university or private life. This is a thing that should not be underestimated: Your creations made me laugh - they made me cry - they made me yell at my monitor (sometimes together you you guys). Your efforts made me smile, when I shouldn't have been. I want to thank Brandon Jones for his manly voice (especially his part in the Bloodborne musical, holy shit!). I want to thank Kyle Bosman for making me start to think more about games and their presentation. I want to thank Ian and Elise for their dumb jokes and epic burns. I want to thank Ben Moore for Tabletop Adventures and just being all around awesome (Its still one of my secret fantasies to play D&D; with the round form Tabletop Adventures) I want to thank Michael Huber for being Huber. I want to thank Daniel Bloodworth for pulling the strings in the darkness and not giving anything a 10. I want to thank everybody else who I haven't mentioned and everyone who has been working in the background to make this site come to life. I don't know what else to say. It's incredibly sad to see Gametrailers go and I don't even want to imagine how it must be for you magnificent bastards. It's like seeing a good friend leave. I tip my hat and raise my glass to all of you. Since English is not my first language, I hope I was able to understandably express my thoughts, but if nothing else made sense, then I just want to say: Thank you... Something along the lines of what right we had to steal his identity or something. I had a file of screenshots somewhere. Around the peak in 08/09 I was getting a few messages like these a week. Man this place was busy back then.

	So I decided to log back into my account after many years. It sucks to see that most of the comments I made are gone along with my avatar. But, it's whatever. Dear GT, I want to say thank you. When I was freshmen in high school, I remember coming home and loading up GT. It was awesome, despite not having a frkn console. As the years go on, I loved this site so much more. But, what made me leave GT was the site redesign...the forums became a second thought. Currently, I get my news on reddit (shout out to r/games), but...there is no denying GT played an integral part in my life. This is where it started for me...and I'll never forget what you did for me. Thank you...so much.

	It's sad to see this site go. I've been here on and off since 2006 and this is the only gaming site I've ever liked and stuck to. Unfortunately I saw this coming due to all of the changes and overhauls. I don't understand why websites always need to change everything for the worst. Every change I see leads to bad things. It's unfortunate.

I don't know how many threads I'll be able to read, but I made it through this one. Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to share your memories, from whichever era you started with the site, even if you stopped coming at some point or another. I've always had a strong sense that God brought me to GT as there were so many varied parts of my past experience that made it a perfect fit when I came there at just the right time for a rare opening. Reading Shane's job description on craigslist was as if it was written directly for me. In the eight and a half years that I've worked there, I've truly grown as a writer, producer, and eventually a manager. I started at GT from a background that was purely focused on Nintendo and bit by bit, I focused on pushing myself to be just as well versed with PlayStation, Xbox, and eventually PC gaming, and now I bounce between every platform just depending on what game I want to play. Somehow, I became known for my opinions on racing games, and for as long as I could find time, I put my strongest efforts into telling the stories of my favorite game soundtracks and getting composers on camera to tell their own. I still firmly believe that anyone would be hard-pressed to make better pieces on the music in the Mass Effect or BioShock series. In the early days, Shane was the most influential in shaping my scripts, but as we grew and responsibilities shifted, I learned so much from Ryan, Justin, and Miguel. Even some of the younger writers on our editorial team like Patrick Morales and Michael Damiani were absolute legends, and we were backed up by the tireless work of Johnny Chang, Rich Brown, Megan Rugh, Matt Blair, Jamie Kohler, Kelly Campbell, Brad Winters, Bobby Burns, dang I could be listing people all night. Safe to say, this team, these people from the last eight and half years, are family. We've been up through the night, sleeping in the office during E3 only to head back out on the show floor the next morning. We suffered together through brutal travel snafus. -- Ryan even bought us clothes once when our luggage got delayed. -- And we had some of the most amazing meals at Gamescom and TGS. Every one of us was gutted when Shane announced his departure. Geoff stepped in briefly to set a new course while Ryan and Jeremy took the reins to lead the team on a day to day basis, lighting a fire under us to double down on great originals, birthing shows that have carried us to this day like The Final Bosman, GT Time, and Mandatory Update. As we began invading Brandon's VO booth, awkward first pushes like The Final Verdict began to prepare us to get comfortable being on-camera, but make no mistake, that foundation was laid with Shane when he started Invisible Walls and pushed us to write regular staff blogs. Then came the purchase by Defy. Nothing left me in more shock than to learn that Ryan Stevens and Brad Winters, the men we relied on for direction, wouldn't be coming. Suddenly, Brandon had to take up his role as the founder of the site to lead the few of us selected to stay, and I found myself as the eldest member of the editorial team. Since Brandon had never really been a part of the review or preview process aside from reading scripts, I knew I had to take that weight off his back so he could focus on figuring out practically everything else. The fact that we somehow reinvented ourselves among moving, changing our entire production pipeline, learning all new equipment and programs, and adapting to a new corporate culture is an absolute testimony to the strength of everyone who came with us. Don and Ian are editing monsters, churning out videos faster than should be possible, yet still they pushed to go beyond that and produce content of their own. Damiani, Elyse and Kyle are creative powerhouses and always kept us from accepting the status quo. Huber and Brad brought much needed enthusiasm to everything they did. Matt Blair worked tirelessly for years well into the middle of the night for far too long and has done so much that should be utterly inappropriate to ask of him. Ben Moore is one of the most fantastic and thoughtful writers imaginable and voracious in his breadth. And Brandon Jones is like a brother now, always leading us through the worst news with positivity and optimism. The dedication to daily programming, streaming, and the passion these guys had to make shows (even when I questioned their ability to fit it in) should not be taken lightly. It will be hard for any team to ever match them. Right now I am on my honeymoon. I have no idea what's waiting for me when I get back. If the right offers come up, I could easily see myself writing or producing for another outlet, moving to a game studio, or moving outside of gaming altogether. But if someone has a realistic plan to keep this team together, I'd be a fool not to hear it out. (sorry didn't intend to write a full history of my time at GT, it just came out)
