I would, so I could understand what this means in context of their now relevant consoles. If this info isn't ready to be unveiled, maybe they should have waited till it was, so we could understand it.

Its a new console. Whats to understand?

What's their worst?

probably Wii for me

Really? So many great games imo. Probably N64 for me.

That had also many great games. Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, GoldenEye, F-Zero, Paper Mario, Super Smash,... I think it's far better than the Wii.

I will stay optimistic but I won't get too excited until I hear more info

Super Mario Galaxy 1-2
Punch-Out!!
Donkey Kong Country Returns
No More Heroes 1-2
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Xenoblade Chronicles
Skyward Sword
Dead Space Extraction
House Of The Dead Overkill
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Madworld
Rayman Origins
Wario Land: Shake It

and many more. Great console imo.

The Wii has a better library than the N64 imo.

Agreed.

i can still play and enjoy my fav wii games just fine, going back and playing the n64 games I used to like is painful. There wasn't that many of them to start with and the majority just don't hold up today.

I do like the Wii library. I just think the N64 was a better console overall, not only because of its library but also because it wasn't as underpowered as the Wii was and because I don't like motion controls that much (not that the 64 had a perfect controller mind you).

n64 has some of the best indivdual games ever made, wii has an overall better library.

The context, is it supposed to replace the WiiU? Something never done before, ok?

I find it quite odd to announce an replacement for the WII U so early. It has to be something else....
Also, an earlier announcement of an successor would drop the sales even more :/
Let's wait until E3 2016 then...

It doesn't seem like a replacement for the Wii U.

also, the N64 sucks.

The N64 is a very nostalgic console for me, i had an amazing time with it and my friends. But its true that thing was kind of a turd. The controller was crap, most games were crap (even if i enjoyed some of those). The N64 has 2 great games, OoT and SM64. Everything else has aged terribly.

I completely dissagree with that.
Smash still plays wonderfully.
Majora's mask is fantastic.
Paper mario not only plays well and it's visuals still hold up to this day.
Banjo Kanzooie, Donkey Kong, mario kart etc.

The N64 had a nice library near the end of it's life and the strong
games are still strong in 2015.

On topic: I'm think we will see a wii-u 2016 replacement.

See, that's the problem, the word seem. We just know that it's a console and that it supports interactions with smart phones, and untill 2016, maybe even e3 2016 (more than ayear from now) we are left guessing. Since we don't have any specific context we can make many different assumptions. I can think that it's going to replace the WiiU or the 3DS and I can think "hmmm... better not buy the 3DS/WiiU in case the life expectancy is cut hort by the NX".

It might be completely wrong, and I think it is, but you can't stop people from speculating. That's the problem I have with this announcement, to me it creates more doubt than excitement.

As for the N64: Didn't anyone play Mischief Makers? =D

We also know it's gonna interact with the Wii U and 3DS which means it's gonna coexists with the Wii U to some extend.

I've never played Mischief Makers. There are some N64 games I really like (mainly Conker, Perfect Dark, OoT, Killer Instinct, Banjo) but it's not enough to make up for all the disappointing games.

Well, speaking of disappointing games... Skyward Sword says hi.

The Wii and WiiU had never been done before, so I guess its a new unique console.

Perhaps. Need to replay MM on 3DS to see if I like the game more.

Hmm, that is interesting and weird. My guess is that they are going to integrate cellphones, 3DS and WiiU with the NX so that they can do cross platform marketing tacticts.

Mischief Makers was awesome, for some reason went under the radar for most people.

That is just crazy talk!

MM is just a glorified Expansion pack, SS is much better.

Makes no sense, the game was not in any shape or form simply an expansion in the traditional sense. It worked on the same engine yes, but other than that it was something different entirely. Zelda ALBW is more of an expansion of ALTTP than MM was to OOT.

I've been thinking about buying it because there is a real lack of 2D games on the N64.

Majora's Mask does a lot of cool stuff, it could have been my favorite 3D Zelda but unfortunately I thought it was a really flawed game and frustrating to play. The only big problems I had with Skyward Sword was the handholding and Fi, the worst character in video game history. Other than that it's mostly a pretty solid game.

Ok thats fair. Yeah, Fi was so fucking annoying.. And the game was just waaaay to easy :/ Still liked it though. Had its moments.

It re-used a lot of the same assets used in OoT, often repurposed, its a lot smaller and experimental. It didn't feel like a sequel or new main game of the series.

Been over 15 years since I played it, but it has a really good atmosphere and it's very, very different from anything else I've played. It was a lot of fun back then and I remember it being hard as hell.

By that logic Gears of War 2 and 3 are an expansion of Gears 1, and all assasin's creed are expansions of the first one. Maybe in a sense they are, it depends of what you mean by an expansion, but the traditional sense of an expansion was like what bloodmoon was to Morrowind, kinda what some DLCs are today, like the valley of the yeti dlc to farcry 4.

MM was a full game and while it kept some of the same character models and such it also improved graphics of Link and such. The whole world was new, new enemies, new gameplay mechanics and so on. To me it never felt like an expansion, it felt like a sequel that turned everything upside down. To me it felt like a main entry, but not like the others.

Bro, Aonuma didn't even want to make MM into a full game, he thought of it as more of a side quest to OoT

A lot of those things can be explained that the leading team was preasured to release the game in a very, very small window, forcing them to re-use the engine and a lot of the same already produced assets from OOT. And if you watch the video Alex said that the guy working on the expansion requested Miyamoto to make a new game instead of the expansion, if he could make the guy within a year. That's Majoras Mask, the new game instead of the expansion they planned to make. Says so at around 3.40 min.

But like I said, by that logic Gears of War 2 and 3 are an expansion of 1 simply by reusing models and working on the same engine.

If GoW 2 and 3 were smaller than the first game, and re-used objects, characters and assets like MM did then they could be considered mere expansions. Just like how FFXIII-2 and LR are considered mere expansions since they re-use so much stuff, stuff that didn't make it into the main game.
