Omniture’s SiteCatalyst Wins CMP’s Network Computing’s Editor’s Choice Award for Best Web Analytics Solution and Becomes Parent Company’s Web Analytics Provider

OREM, UT (September 7, 2004) Omniture, the leading provider of the most mature and comprehensive technology for online analytics, today announced it has been selected by CMP Media LLC to provide web analytics for the company’s more than 150 websites, which include the leading industry news websites of InformationWeek, Intelligent Enterprise, Network Computing and TechWeb. For its selection process, CMP Media’s Network Computing initiated a head-to-head review of the leading web analytic providers. Only Omniture’s SiteCatalyst received perfect scores for its analytics capabilities and ease of use, receiving the Editor’s Choice Award for the best all-around offering and won the business.

“Omniture's SiteCatalyst system offers something for all analysts, from the stats guru to the novice,” said Emily Sunderman, CMP’s Web analytics department manager. “The interface is easy to navigate and lets you quickly cross-reference different data points. For instance, in a report of the most popular URLs, you can right-click on any one listed to identify the top referrers to that URL. The dashboards are convenient and can be converted to any imaginable format. The administration interface is much better than any of the other products'. It lets you see who's using the system and what they are doing.”

This unique process was much more than a standard product review, it was a real world evaluation that resulted in both an Editor’s Choice Award and a substantial business contract to provide web analytics to more than 150 websites. Network Computing invited 19 vendors to participate in its head-to-head review. Ten products were evaluated based on visitor identification, campaign information, path-navigation analysis, e-commerce report writing, administration, integration, training and performance. In order to test the web analytics offerings in a real world setting, each product was tested for one week on www.networkcomputing.com and www.networkmagazine.com, measuring traffic for each site and globally on the two sites together. Omniture’s SiteCatalyst’s received the highest scores based on its superior analytics, easy to use interface and dynamic segmentation.

“Today’s announcement is a strong endorsement of Omniture’s ability to deliver results in a real world business setting. We’re passionate about delivering the most robust yet easy-to-use solution thus we’re pleased to be so publicly awarded for our commitment,” said Josh James, CEO of Omniture. “We have a long history of servicing some of the largest and most complex websites including Wal-Mart, eBay, GM and HP and we’re thrilled to add CMP Media to our list.”
