OREM, UT — February 21, 2005 — Omniture, the largest provider of on-demand web analytics, today announced a record number of customer site implementations in 2004. SiteCatalyst™ was implemented on more than 3,000 customer sites in 2004, including some of the largest and most active sites on the Internet, such as Walmart.com, AOL, eBay Stores and CMP Media. The company attributes this latest milestone of market leadership to both the strength and breadth of its web analytics technology, and to the skills and dedication of its Professional Services Group in ensuring the shortest implementation time in the industry. Omniture’s Rapid Deploy process makes the SiteCatalyst implementation seamless and straightforward, allowing clients to begin capturing actionable data with a focus on rapid time-to-value.
“Omniture’s Professional Services offerings and the dedication of its implementation team really set them apart,” said Betsy Chase, manager, digital strategy and analysis at Dex Media, Inc. (NYSE: DEX), the largest publicly traded incumbent directory company in the US. “Omniture’s team really went above and beyond the call with us on our initial implementation, and they have maintained that responsiveness throughout the subsequent additions of other sites within our business.”
Omniture has dedicated more than a third of its staff to training and support. In addition to mastery of SiteCatalyst, over 60 analytics professionals in Omniture’s Professional Services Group also offer the deep vertical market expertise required to deliver fast and high-value web analytics implementations. This expertise, coupled with the Rapid Deploy methodology, offers customers an unbeatable time-to-value proposition, whether in green-field implementations or when conducting upgrades from competitive solutions.
The Rapid Deploy Methodology
Rapid Deploy offers a four-step process ensuring quick implementations. Because the entire process is managed by Omniture’s Professional Services Group, the resource requirement from customers is minimal. Based on the needs of individual customers, the implementation can be completely outsourced or simply overseen by Omniture’s Implementation Engineers. Omniture’s pioneering experience in the industry has helped create a best practices library that ensures a timely implementation, by taking advantage of the most up-to-date methodologies. Rapid Deploy follows these steps:
1 Requirements Assessment: The Implementation Engineer and the customer’s dedicated Account Manager work closely to define the goals for the online business, identify related metrics and discuss content management systems, application servers, database systems and other relevant platforms to evaluate any unique requirements. From this assessment, the Implementation Engineer delivers a detailed implementation plan, including a timeline and responsibilities checklist, for the customer’s approval.
2 Implementation Phase I: Guided by Omniture, the customer implements simple tags on its web pages and validates the accuracy through the reporting interface. In contrast with many other solutions, Omniture supports separate test and production environments. After this short initial phase, more than 80 percent of the SiteCatalyst reporting is fully functioning and adding value to the customer.
3 Implementation Phase II: The second phase focuses on the implementation of any customized aspects of each customer’s reporting needs.
4 Enhancements: Omniture’s Professional Services analysts and Account Managers support each customer by providing enhancements on an as-needed basis.
On-going Support After Implementation
Omniture’s Professional Services support doesn’t stop at implementation. Wine.com's Vice President of Customer Experience, Jay Shaffer, explains, "Omniture's professional services team provides great support and I know that I have someone on my side I can go to, to answer all my questions. We started using Omniture right out of the box during the holidays, our busiest season of the year, then went through training to better understand how to get maximum value out of it, and now we develop our site with Web analytics in mind. This technology is critical to our success and Omniture's professional services team has been an integral part in every step of the way."
Omniture also offers Omniture University, the industry’s most comprehensive – and flexible – training initiative, designed to help customers realize the highest value from their use of SiteCatalyst. Courses are offered at the Omniture campus, at the customer site, or via the Web. In addition, Omniture University features a user forum that connects all SiteCatalyst users, allowing them to share their knowledge and real-world experiences with one another.
"We’ve invested considerable thought and resources in ensuring that SiteCatalyst offers the fastest time-to-value on the market," said Josh James, CEO and co-founder of Omniture. "This focus guarantees that SiteCatalyst can immediately produce results for both power users and non-specialists throughout the enterprise."
