MUNICH, Germany – January 26, 2007 – Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimisation software, today announced Kabel Deutschland, Germany’s largest cable network provider, has increased online sales of cable access products by more than 100 percent in just three weeks after implementing the Omniture SiteCatalyst® Web analytics solution. Using the information generated by SiteCatalyst to streamline and simplify their Web site navigation paths, Kabel Deutschland also achieved a 20 percent increase in the amount of visitors who purchase a product or service over the same time period—representing a significant lift in overall company revenue.
“As a leader in the cable industry, we require a robust analytics solution to provide us with the information we need to drive high ROI. We did not want our site to be a basic reference portal—with TV guides etc.—but rather a tool for driving sales for our various products and services,” said Tobias Stetter, manager of online marketing at Kabel Deutschland. “Our relationship with Omniture not only enhances and optimises our online channel, but also helps us provide top-quality service to our customers.”
According to Stetter, prior to implementing Omniture solutions, his team lacked visibility into how customers and prospects were interacting with the company’s Web site, www.kabeldeutschland.de. For example, Stetter didn’t know where and why visitors were dropping off the site without making purchases. After examining the analytics data generated by Omniture SiteCatalyst, the Kabel Deutschland team found a substantial amount of people dropping off the site during the order process.
Taking action on that information, the company decided to shorten and streamline the order process into four, clearly defined steps. The team also made changes to the home page to simplify the navigation by eliminating links that were not utilized to avoid confusion and distraction. These adjustments along with other decisions Kabel Deutschland made based on data generated by Omniture SiteCatalyst resulted in a 20 percent increase in visitor conversion rate and a 100 percent increase in sales of cable services in just three weeks after implementation.
“Many of today’s online consumers lack the patience to wade through vague and cumbersome Web site navigation to find the information they are looking for; most often, they will simply try a different Web site,“ said Neil Weston, vice president and general manager, EMEA, Omniture. “Omniture solutions help businesses identify the most effective ways to guide customers and site visitors to the information they require to complete a purchase decision. Kabel Deutschland has done an extraordinary job leveraging Web analytics to tailor their online channel to do just that.”
