SENIOR LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (OREM, UT)

Omniture seeking a Linux guru to complement a growing systems administration team that manages thousands of servers & systems across multiple, worldwide data centers. Applicants should have a strong desire to excel, solve complex problems, propose new solutions, make architectural recommendations and contribute knowledge to the team.

This person will support Omniture's flagship product SiteCatalyst®. Omniture's SiteCatalyst® is the industry-leading web analytics product on the market - delivering both real-time & legacy data to customers via a SICK "web 2.0" user interface. Serving 5,000+ customers and tracking approximately 11 BILLION transactions daily on the web (that's 125,000 transactions per second!), it has quickly become one of the premier SaaS offerings on the market today.

Description



  • Work in a demanding, fast-paced atmosphere
  • Support Omniture's environment of over ten-thousand production linux servers
  • Support a 24x7 distributed enterprise environment
  • Participate in an on-call rotation by carrying a pager and responding to escalations from other team members and alerts
  • Identify and implement system-wide updates and fixes
  • Evaluate and propose new or improved system architecture
  • Tune and optimize existing server and application performance by identifying potential hardware and software enhancements
  • Work closely with an existing team of skilled systems administrators and mentor junior members

    • Qualifications


  • Computer Science related Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years Linux/UNIX administration experience
  • Excellent command line Linux/UNIX skills
  • Strong familiarity with LAMP stack
  • Strong programming/scripting (bash, php, perl) skills
  • Strong Linux problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting
  • Clear communication and documentation of projects and procedures
  • Adherence to high consistency and standardization paradigms
  • Familiarity with Nagios, Linux Kernel and Kickstart is a plus
