Based on data from Web analytics, companies can pinpoint products to feature on their homepage or features that need to be more prominently placed on high-traffic pages.

    Utah firm gets $40M boost
    Utah's home-grown Omniture has received $40 million in funding from a group of investors led by Bank of America Venture Partners. Oberbeck reports that the deal is one of the biggest venture capital deals of the year and Josh James said the new capital will allow the Web analytics provider to expand rapidly and "put some real distance" between Omniture and its competitors. The size of BA Venture's investment in Omniture is far larger than most deals received by Utah companies in recent years, said Steven Stauffer, a PricewaterhouseCoopers accountant who tracks venture capital investment in Utah for the firm's MoneyTree Survey.

Bank of America is BAVP's sole limited partner. Other participants are a previous investor, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, and Attractor Investment Management, one of the early investors of Salesforce.com.

    Omniture Raises $40,000,000 in Series C Round
    Omniture, the largest and fastest-growing provider of on-demand Web analytics, today announced it has closed a $40 million round of venture capital funding, led by BA Venture Partners (Bank of America Venture Partners). This is the third round through which Omniture has raised a total of $65 million. Rory O’Driscoll, a managing director at BA Venture Partners, will join the company’s board of directors. Additional participating investors in the round include previous investor, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Attractor Investment Management, one of the early investors of Salesforce.com.
