Adobe Online Marketing Suite and Success in The Retail Vertical
Recently, Adobe published two success stories about two different retail companies that are achieving business results with the Adobe Online Marketing Suite–Bakers Shoes and American Eagle.
Historically, Bakers Shoes, a leading retailer of the latest trends in footwear and accessories, brick-and-mortar stores have long been the major force behind its sales and continue to be the cornerstone of the business’ success. In recent years, however, the company’s consumers’ attention has turned toward the online retail channel, and Bakers managers sought an analytics platform to help optimize its web strategies, deliver extraordinary online and in-store experiences, and exceed customer expectations. The company adopted the Online Marketing Suite to better understand customer preferences and leverage these insights to create a sustainable, growth-oriented online marketplace that complements its brand. With the Adobe solutions, Bakers Shoes has improved revenue per visit by 7%, increased average order value by 40% for customers who select recommended products and increased click-through rates by 60% with optimized recommendations.
“Looking at the results delivered versus how much it cost us, the Adobe Online Marketing Suite was a win from the start,” said Scott Cohn, director of merchandising and e-commerce, Bakers Shoes. “We’re able to present reasonable, valid, and relevant recommendations automatically, saving us countless hours of manual data entry and providing our customers with a terrific experience.”

The Adobe Online Marketing Suite has transformed American Eagle’s, a trendsetting clothing designer and retailer, marketing efforts. American Eagle now has the ability to obtain a comprehensive view of the customer, simplify interactive multi-brand marketing, integrate with partner marketing activities, and deliver innovative online experiences. With the Online Marketing Suite, the American Eagle team targeted visitors who clicked from an exclusive e-mail offer and reinforced that same offer during checkout within the cart banner, contributing to a 20% lift in order conversion. The company has also improved program execution and reduced marketing costs.
“Adobe has been integral in helping us translate our creative ideas and innovation into success on our online properties,” said Brian Franks, vice president of creative and marketing for the company’s popular 77kids brand. “With each new iteration of Adobe solutions, including the Adobe Online Marketing Suite, everything works better together, integrates more smoothly, and becomes more powerful so that we can take full advantage of marketing in a multichannel world.”
